It was built in the late 1800's. It is up on the hill and has a very unique look on the outside. I wondered what a Lutheran Church was doing in a predominantly Catholic place. We didn't get to go inside because we didn't have tickets which you pay for.

Hermosa vista exterior de la iglesia, se encuentra al final de la calle Abtao donde hay una vista hermosa de Valparaíso. No tuve la opción de poder entrar a conocerla ya que se encontraba cerrada.

The Lutheran church of La Santa Cruz in Valparaíso was built in 1897 on Concepcion Hill and opened on January 1 of the following year becoming the first Protestant church to raise a temple with a tower and bell tower in South America. It belongs to the community of the Lutheran Church in Chile. Certainly worth visiting when on the Concepcion Hill in Valparaíso.

La verdad es que esta iglesia está inserta en un barrio turístico, cerca de muchos restaurantes por lo que es muy fácil encontrarla. Es bellísima y en la misma calle en que se encuentra tienes una vista maravillosa de Valparaíso

Esta iglesia es una delicia de arquitectura de finales del siglo 19 con muchos elementos de catedrales góticas, alemanas. la conjunción de las religiones luteranas, anglicanas,y católica (a los que profesan este dogma monoteísta), les fascinará a sus seguidores y a la vez a los que gustan de la arquitectura clásica, también podrán disfrutar los estilos, y simbolismos.

When you are walking around Cerro Concepcion and Calle Almirante Montt you will definitely walk by this large Lutheran church. One might wonder why there is a Lutheran church in the heart of this Catholic city. The church has a long history connected to the interesting story of the Protestant (English and German) community in Valparaiso stretching well into the 19th century. Sadly, the church has no information about this history, a squandered opportunity. The church will not impress afficionados of beautiful churches, but it has beauty worth appreciating nonetheless, especially on a cold or hot day. The church hosts Sunday services as well as special services and music recitals and they are usually free. It is worth stopping in.

Schon von weitem sieht man am Paseo Pastor Schmidt die lutherische Kirche die umliegenden schönen Holzhäuser überragen. Sie passt aber doch sehr gut ins Gesamtbild
