The best cooking class in Peru!

We had the most fantastic time with Alvaro! It was so great to have a tour of the local market and learn more about traditional ingredients and the culture of Peru.
He taught us to make 3 delicious dishes and a traditional Pisco Sour, all of which tasted amazing.
He was super friendly and a great teacher. This experience has been the highlight of our honeymoon and time in Peru! Would recommend to anyone who loves food and learning about the local culture.

We had the most incredible evening with Alvaro! From learning about the local cuisine in San Pedro market to plating it ourselves in the Taste kitchen, the whole experience was so insightful and delicious. Highly highly recommend Taste cooking studio! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Excellent class to learn, eat and laugh

Alvaro was a brilliant teacher with a real passion for Peruvian food and ingredients; he is extremely knowledgeable so both the market tour and discussion about Pisco were very informative. The class itself was very detailed and we were able to prepare each dish ourselves, helping us to learn better; thank you to Ali the fairy for making sure everything was clean and ready for use. Alvaro was very attentive to our preferences and adapted things to suit pescatarian needs. He was also good fun and we enjoyed a lot of laughs along with our cooking!

Tasty Experience

It was all great! The tour of the market was so interesting. We learned about so many fresh food options and how to prepare them. Chef Alvaro and his assistant made learning new techniques easy and fun. And results were delicious. I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone!

All thumbs up for Alvaro and Taste.

Due to the political protest and civil unrest some of our tours were canceled and many businesses were closed throughout Cusco. Despite all this we were able to have a fabulous evening with Alvaro at Taste. We meet at the market but unfortunately, the market was closed. We headed to the supermarket instead. Alvaro taught us about the fruits and vegetables used in traditional Peruvian foods. We then went to the cooking studio which is quaint and charming. Alvaro taught us the history of Pisco. We made Pisco Sours and a delicious meal. Alvaro spoke clear English. Not only is Alvaro a wonderful chef but he was a wonderful host and pleasant company. We highly recommend this experience and Taste Peruvian Cooking Studio.

Great Peruvian Cooking Experience!

We had a great time! We made a tiradito app which was excellent, can’t wait to make it again. We had a main and a dessert, both great! Alvaro is very kind and patient. Would def recommend!

Made the Best Ceviche we had in Peru!

Alvaro was amazing! He met us at the San Pedro market for a private tour and turned what would be a pretty overwhelming scene into an unforgettable experience. Picking out fresh ingredients made cooking our meals a lot more fun! While cooking he kept us entertained and laughing the whole time, and can clearly make cooks of any experience level feel comfortable and excited. The ceviche we made with him was the best we had in all of Peru (and we had a LOT). 10/10 would recommend to anyone staying in Cusco!

Wonderful Chef, Incredible Experience!

Alvaro and his assistant made this experience wonderful. My husband and I were celebrating my honeymoon and felt instantly at home with Alvaro’s kind and friendly demeanor when he met us at the market. He is a gifted storyteller and historian and we learned SO much about so many ingredients and about the market itself!
Alvaro made it easy to make beautiful dishes. We had so much fun with the ingredients and tried so many new fruits!
The whole experience with Alvaro and his assistant was so comfortable and friendly! We would recommend this to anyone who even has a small desire to learn more about Peruvian food!

Such a fun and delicious experience! I loved visiting the Mercado San Pedro, and learning to make delicious dishes. But what really made the experience memorable was our experienced chef Alvaro. He was incredibly fun and taught me so much about local ingredients. I had a great time and HIGHLY recommend this experience!
