Tipón is one of the most impressive ruins I have ever seen. Its hydraulic architecture is a real wonder of the engineering of the Inca civilization. In addition, the sound of water flowing through its ancient canals creates a calm and serene atmosphere, inviting reflection and connection with history.

If you want to visit a quiet archaeological site, less than an hour from Cusco, do not hesitate.
It is a place outside the tourist hordes that exudes tranquility, which allows us to appreciate the genius of the Incas in terms of water management, construction of canals.
The mosaic of mineral colors, contrasts with the green of natural spaces and the blue of the sky. Beautiful photos in perspective.

Visiting the archaeological park of Tipon that is located 37 km from Cusco was a success , there were not many people , so we could even have a meditation rimpo in the place that is surrounded by platforms Inca terraces and was a place where you worship water.

I was on a half day tour with Sur Tours and this was one of the sites that we visited.
The Incan archaeological complex of Tipon is known for its water channels and agricultural terraces (andenes) which were built to create microclimates that enabled the Incas to experiment with hybrid cereals and crops, one reason why Peru today produces more than 3,000 varieties of potato. The water channels of Tipon are believed to be used as a ceremonial centre by the Incas to worship water. Water continues to flow in them, 500 years after their construction. There are various trails from the main one to visit several buildings.

The Incas have already gotten their bearings on construction. A great water temple has been created here. The underground spring is located in the upper part of the plant and continuously feeds the watercourses. Wonderful!

This place we visited is quite impressive. The road was very sloping, so when we realized we couldn't get out on foot, we called a taxi. We visited here for five days. And we realized we needed to stay longer.

It is very worth going... The platforms with the irrigation system and their small waterfalls are beautiful and the sound of the water is really relaxing... very nice

Included in the tourist ticket of 130 sols (purchase on site, valid for 10 days) which allows you to visit around fifteen sites around Cusco. 22km from Cusco. About 4km from the town of TIPON, on the heights. A pretty, little-visited Inca archaeological site which allows you to appreciate an ingenious irrigation system. Free parking. Very beautiful views of the Andes mountain range. Relaxing and informative. Worth a stop if you are going to the Seven Colors Mountain. Allow around 1 to 1.5 hours on site.

Não vendem mais o ingresso só de Tipon.Vc deve adquirir o boleto turístico que lhe dará acesso as principais atrações de Cusco. Seu custo é de S/130 inteiro e S/70 estudante. Cotação hoje 29.12.2017 S/ 3,21 = US$ 1.

Hello, spending 4 days in Cusco after our trip to MP. Tipon looks like a must, can you suggest anything we can add on to a visit to Tipon since we will hire a private taxi for the day (or half) . We like off the beaten places to visit and as much local culture as possible. As beautiful as Cusco appears, we plan on devoting two of our four full days there. Any suggestions as to what to do with the other two would be greatly appreciated. The rainbow mountains are a bit too far for us. Many thanks, Mike

I don't know. Not much in tipon. The ruins are overrated. on the way back from Machu Picchu, when the train ends in oyantambo, ask your taxi to stop at the maras salt flats.

In Cusco there are buses running from the street "Calle San Augustin". Close to the Qorikancha. This takes you right out to Tipon. You will have to wait for a bus with Tipon on it's windscreen.
From memory you pay around 2 sol. You should have a bus within 10 minutes. Goodluck
