Dear former clients and dear interested people, I am Edwin Rojas, founder of Haku Tours, I apologize for my late reply, it might not be necessary now but if you allowed me I would like to answer this question; we need all clients passport specially if they come from overseas, actually all legal tour companies will ask you the same if they are legal companies. This is because is a mandatory law coming from our government, because they want to know: who is coming to our country, also how many taxes we need to pay for the services we sell plus to know the nationality of visitors to do future studies about the tourism industry in Peru. We would like not bother you asking for your passport number but if we do not show your passport (just the number) to our government then we will be breaking the law and we do not want to do that. If in some cases my colleagues didn't ask for your passport number probably is because they forgot to ask. I dont know if this also help but when I travel overseas: USA, UK, New Zealand, Germany, Croatia, Russia, Norway, etc, they all ask for my passport number, actually they took a photocopy of each page (both sides) of my passport number each time I visited, even when I come back to their countries, when I ask why they do that they told me their laws says: they do not need to answer me. Only one country told me why, this was its answer: its for safety reason to be sure I am not an international thieve or terrorist (then they smile me). Thank you to be in touch, in case you have any other question I kindl will help you. I apologize in case again I take a couple of days (or weeks) to answer is because I am working in isolated towns with no wifi, bringing donations, clothes, blankets, food and shoes to children and families with less resources, I feel bless doing all this humanitarian projects because I use the money former clients paid for their tour (the tour company I run works as non profit organization) for this I have no other words to say Thank you to all, gracias a todos.
