Fica localizada no espaço onde existia antigamente uma estação de trem, ainda guarda alguns resquícios dessa fase, com a plataforma e a fachada. É um lugar bacana, mas carece de mais atividades. A entrada é gratuita.

Lo que antes fue la estación de los trenes de Ferrocarril Central del Peru , genial obra de ingeniería de E. Meiggs , se fue deteriorando con el pasar de los años por la falta de pasajeros; pero afortunadamente se decidió recuperar la infraestructura colonial, para convertirla en lo que hoy es La Casa de la Literatura Peruana, que mantiene intacto su valor arquitectónico e histórico y de vez en cuando es usada como estación por el Tren Turistico Lima-Huancayo

Antiga estação de trem que virou biblioteca/casa de cultura. Foi uma das paradas do free walking tour, provavelmente uma das que mais gostei. Prédio lindo com teto de vitrais, grande variedade de livros, exposições e muita história. (Agosto 2019)

Próxima à Plaza de Armas, na lateral do Palacio del Gobierno, é uma edificação antiga e bonita, que já abrigou uma estação ferroviária e, hoje, sedia uma biblioteca e exposições diversas. Um belo vitral adorna seu teto. Vale a pena visitar.

I saw in another recent review that this place was not visited as the guide had told them that it was, "not worth our time". I disagree. While certainly not the most interesting place to visit in central Lima, it is definitely worthwhile.
This is a former railway station which is now a library. It has a great stained glass ceiling and some interesting displays. And from the outside it is certainly an impressive building.

As railroad stations go, this is a really good looking one, but it is no longer used for trains. Our guide told us that the purpose had changed and that the exhibits were not worth our valuable time. That being said, we did spend more than a few minutes admiring the architectural work that went into the structure. The balance is really excellent and some of the sculptures very nice.

Ubicada en la antigua estacion del tren de Desamparados, estructra arquitectonica espectacular, verás un vitral hermoso en el edificio, una bella reliquia. Posee muchas obras de autores peruanos con diferentes ideologías como socialismo, indigenismo, romanticismo. Si tienes tiempo te recomiendo solicitar un libro y leerlo en la cafetería, ubicada frente a los antiguos rieles del tren. Entrada gratuita. Muy cerca está la galería Municipal Pancho Fierro. Te lo recomiendo.

Era la antigua estacion del tren de Desamparados, arquitectonicamente espectacular y el vitral del edificio una joya. El espacio de Vargas Llosa deberia ser tambien para todos los excelentes autores peruanos no solo a el por ser el Nobel de Literatura. Conoci mucho de los personajes socialistas y su vision humana, no me gusto pero respeto las tendencias. Tenemos mucho mas que ofrecer.
