I think it's worth seeing. Quick program and with a great price (free 😂). On the day we went (second) there was no specific event on site, but we saw posters with schedule of events.

I always enjoy trying to get a birds-eye view of a new city where possible. This viewpoint was a perfect place from which to see Montevideo. It's fairly centrally located with 360 degree views of the city and river from the top. It was a bit of a walk from the historic old town, but we wanted to stretch our legs and were able to get there in a reasonable amount of time.
The viewpoint is reached via clear elevators on the outside of a government building. It is free, which is very nice. When we visited on a Friday afternoon, one of the two elevators was not working, so we had a short wait in line (about 10 minutes) before we rode up. Once up, you can stay as long as you like, and walk around the plaza open to the air all the way around to see the city from different angles. We only stayed for about 15 minutes since we had somewhere to be afterward, but we enjoyed our time there.

Surprising! Easily accessible, free location, with a wonderful view of the entire city of Montevideo. It's well worth the visit.

Great praise to the authorities for offering this viewpoint for free to tourists and locals.
In many other countries, they would charge a hefty price to let people ride 22 stories up in an outdoor elevator and access a well-kept, landscaped platform with a 365-degree view of the city skyline.
In my opinion, the Mirador Panoramico is Montevideo's second-best tourist attraction after the recreational Rambla, which runs for kilometers along the city's coastline and beautiful beaches.

A good ride and free of charge. The entrance is on the opposite side of Avenida 18 de Julho. You see the city hall building, on Avenida 18 de Julho and go around, go to the back, there are some glass doors, just go in, go to the elevator and go up. There you stay as long as you think necessary.

A charming city. I was there ten years ago, I went back and would go back. The viewpoint was open to the public and the cafe had excellent service.

It is closed to the public. There is no information regarding access to the elevator, a sign informs you when you reach it on the 22nd floor.

Lamentablemente fuimos hoy en la mañana, al consultar por entrada al Mirador, nos informaron que estaba cerrado. Nos dijeron que estaba en reparación hasta nuevo aviso.
Por lo menos en el Hall de la intendencia hay una feria artesanal para no perder el viaje.
