If you are in the area, go see this! We took the cable cars up ($32.50 for two), walked the track, and walked down the mountain. It is about 3.5 miles from end of the track to center of Old Town. Some is steep, but it is all on a paved track. It is very interesting. There are also other things to do at the top.

Interesting walk along the olympic bob sleigh run with interesting graffiti. We walked the full length to the finishing line but remember it's an uphill hike for 1km if you have the return cable car ride down the mountain.

An abandoned bobsled track is located on Trebevic Mountain. The easiest way to get there is by cable car. The cost of travel to the mountain by cable car is 30 convertible marks, 20 km one way. I decided to buy a one-way ticket and walk down the mountain. The bobsled track itself is very impressive. Many tourists walk along it, take photos. Walking down the road along the highway, I came back to town. The descent on foot was about 40 minutes.

A quite "mandatory" stop if you have a few days to visit Sarajevo.
You can get there by car or through the funicular (although now it costs 12€ per person). Once at the top you can see the ruins of what was the bobsleigh track of the 1984 Winter Olympics, now decorated with lots of murals.
From above you have a nice view of the city.

A park on a mountain road in Sarajevo, 7-8 km from the city center. After you arrive and park the car there are 2 paths, including an asphalt and thin trail. We went up to the cable car. It’s about 1.5-2 km walkable. You’ll see the remains of the ski rink at the 1984 Olympics. You can walk inside. Graffiti made.

If, like me you remember watching both the 1984 olympics and later the war, this is kind of one of the things you have to visit in Sarajevo. If you are doing it in summer, it's around 2.5 km down and 2.5km back in the heat so take plenty of water. Also if you are wanting to visit the Bistrik Fortress or other things on the mountain, its worth checking where they are as you don't want to get all the way down, head back up before realising what you want to see is actually at the bottom! Quite a lot of the sniper positions have been filled in so if you want to see them, you need to look at the back or explore up the side sections which were used as training runs.

Great visit, my family and I loved each other, the tags on the Olympic bobsleigh track in 84’ are sublime the scenery is amazing too 😊

A very poignant place to visit. Beautiful journey up the mountain with fantastic views of Sarajevo. Walking the track felt very post apocalyptic and it was hard to imagine it in 1984 full of athletes and spectators. The graffiti was stunning, I took so many photos. It makes quite a long walk but a thoroughly enjoyable one

The section I visited is preserved, although abandoned and covered in graffiti. The mountain. the trees, etc..., reveal the tourist potential of this area. Nature in itself is beautiful. The place obviously doesn't lose its memories of the war, but when you walk around here, nature makes you forget those wounds.

Our visit was one of the stops of a (war)tour (organised by Toorico tours > more comments see > tripadvisor review). We've spent there +/- half an hour.
In that region you also can find interesting hiking trails (as many local people do during the weekend).

Hi, I'm going to Sarajevo next month and want to visit the bob sleigh track, can anyone advise on the best way to get to it - is there public transport, or is it walkable (distance and safety - I know there are many warnings about unexploded mines) or do they do guided tours there? Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Try "Insider Sarajevo" tours. It is much safer than going on your own because people are sometimes robbed at knife point up there.
