Vito did an excellent job. He is a very friendly man and performed a very informative tour. I did it solo, but I think it would be great for couples and families too. I think it would be great if there was another member of staff to support him, but then again, I did come on a Monday night!

On the hill of Kaptol, a stone's throw from the Cathedral, in this wine shop I asked for a tasting of red wines from native grapes accompanied by a platter of local cheeses.
The very professional and nice owner took me on a tour of Croatia, proposing 5 wines from Frankovka to Teran and Plavac Mali, carefully explaining milieu, winemaking and organoleptic characteristics. Dalmatian vines belong to the same family as the Apulian Primitivo.
All quality wines. The honest bill, 52 euros.
A place that I would definitely recommend to those who love wine.

We love wine tastings in all countries. A tour of Croatian wines at Vinoteka Bornstein did not disappoint. If anything, we were surprised by the different new-to-us varietals available in Croatia.
Ivan was terrific and genuine in his knowledge of the wines, geography, and wineries. The vinoteka itself is lovely and atmospheric. The wines themselves were tasty and we of course had certain favourites.
We had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this place for a proper wine tasting. I also recommend setting aside a few hours in an early afternoon if you wish to take advantage of the rich knowledge offered at this vinoteka.

Outstanding wine tasting experience - Ivan the host was extremely welcoming, passionate and knowledgeable about wines - we learnt a lot and enjoyed four excellent local wines.
Great atmosphere - highly recommended for gatherings with families or friends, or just a casual drink

Adventure this place is. I knew nothing about this place, we were six together. Very nice presentation and good wine and cheeses. We would love to come back someday.

Sitting out in the courtyard watching a beautiful summers day go from light to dark and doing the local Wine & Cheese flight is not to be missed if you enjoy these finer experiences. The explanation of croatian terrior, it's producers and the wines themselves is AMAZING along with the local cheese selection. Do yourself a favour and get it on your itinerary 👍👍👍

Really great wine bar and wine shop.m in an old vaulted cellar. Focused on Croatian Wines. The waiter is very knowledgeable and takes his time to help you decide on which wines to taste. The food was excellent as well and all Croatian of course (except for the Greek olives) .

We had the BEST rosé here and the couple who owns it are so friendly and wonderful! Everyone should visit here if you are in Zagreb!

we gingen om wijn te kopen; de man die ons ontving was een grote prater die voortdurend probeerde ons de duurdere wijnen te verkopen. Toen hij midden in ons gesprek iets moest gaan opzoeken verdween hij en kwam minutenlang niet terug...hij stond bij een groep jonge vrouwen die aan 't proeven waren grapjes en foto's te maken. Als we dan toch nog een aantal flessen van een bepaalde schuimwijn wilden kopen, bleek hij er maar 1 in voorraad te hebben...Vinoteka ???

Ivan is a genuine and incredibly hospitable host leading me through the wine regions of Croatia with his cellar of wines. He customized a great experience of wine flights, both red and white. Amazing, just an amazing experience. Unfortunately Croatian wines are not accessible in North America, so just enjoy!

My husband and I will be visiting Zagreb and would like to do a wine tasting at Vinoteka Bornstein. Are these scheduled winetastings or do we just visit and ask for a flight with cheeses, etc. Thank you.
