Preferred this museum to the parliament however the tour felt rushed and several rooms were excluded from the visit. We did not get to see the wine cellar nor the cinema room which are mentioned in the leaflet. No photographs were allowed and i hoped there would be a guide book to purchase with photographs but the gift shop had no such item. All in all a poor experience !

It’s not a mansion, a little palace. Worth seeing to analyse the era. The female guide was very good, ask questions. There is a nice cafe in the garden and a little shop.

The tour was disappointing, mainly because of the tour guide. The lady with a gothic look displayed an attitude and approach which had not been professional and in accordance to her job. She seemed irritated, bored and constantly shouting at the tourists in the most obvious way.
Based on the previous reviews, this lady has shown the same behaviour in the past with other groups. I can recommend her to book a tour at the House of Parliament. There, the tour guide was brilliant, polite with a calm voice and subtle ways to warn the tourists...and her look was professional!!!

I had great expectations to see the residence of Chausescos. The house in very good condition.imperative Reservation in advance and only with organized tour.
The rooms are many but unfortunately the time of the tour is too limited. We were too many people in the group resulting in we did not have the comfort to move in the space.Great time pressure!Before we can get out of the room the employees put out the lights because we were the last group of the day.

We visited Ceausescu's house without having booked before and I have to tell the truth, they arranged us anyway without even having to wait a lot (40 minutes). Photos can only be taken externally, internally it is forbidden. From the outside the house nn looks huge, instead it is the opposite. It was expanded in 79. It is really immense and beautiful for those times. Needless to say, there are precious materials, full of mosaics, such as the swimming pool, Murano chandeliers, worked wood and an Indian marble (the most expensive in the world!). An area of the house was made by copying the furniture of Louis XIV. It remained as it was.... With his wife Elena's clothes in the walk-in closet, which more than walk-in closet was a real room! It also enjoys an immense garden full of peacocks. Too bad that while they lived in extreme luxury the people were starving!!!!

A great look into the opulent lifestyle of a dictator and his family. The tour guide we had on the 3rd of October 2024 was very good, informative and witty. You are not allowed to take photographs inside the house due to state rules. We did not feel rushed at all. Slightly disappointed there were no guidebooks but you can buy picture postcards of the interior. The staff at the giftshop and cafe were extremely helpful and polite. 5/5.

This beautiful house is just a few minutes walk from the Herastrau Park and the Arc de Triomphe. The old part of the house is very nice with a classic style where each family member had a small part of the palace consisting of study, bathroom and bedroom. The new part is a more modern and ranges from the wonderful winter garden to the pool that I found a bit kitsch. The visits are only guided (so arm yourself with a little patience, we waited half an hour) and it is not possible to take pictures in any of the rooms of the house. However well worth a visit is really a piece of Romanian history.

I never left luggage there but they had a big enough area and I am pretty sure I saw a lady leave her suitcase with the staff there. The staff were very accommodating and I am sure they would not want you to wander around lugging a suitcase up and downstairs.

Hi, I am trying to make a booking for July 2019, I booked through their website and received confirmation of receipt of my request but not the confirmation of the actual booking. I waited for around a month but still didn't receive any confirmation. So I sent an email as well but to date no reply. Can anyone advice how did they managed to make a booking please? TIA

hi .. i had the same problem a month or so ago... in fact got numerous cancels and rebooks. in the end i called and they said they had the booking and don't keep booking again. so i went at the time they said and all was fine. not a great website system but the mansion is well worth going to.

Is it still possible to book tickets to this magnificent building for this month (June 2019)? the website says no more bookings available for June due to EU presidency hosting. any advice?

When there are special governmental or international activities there is no possibility of visiting.
