Oh my gosh when I say perfect I mean perfect! Luis and Lumo tours are the best in Panama. From the time he greeted us at the airport, I knew our time with him would be awesome. He is a professional, he’s kind and very knowledgeable about Panama. Do not second guess yourself about hiring them, you won’t be disappointed!

We hired Lumo Tours for a few days to take a group of 64 people for guided tours and airport transfers and they did not disappoint. Luis, the main guide and proprietor is knowledgeable, reliable professional and polite. He and his team made such a difference to our group and I highly recommend Lumo Tours!

Besides being a Top-Of-The-Line Tour Company, as a guide Luis went above and beyond for our large group. While he provided great historical, environmental and cultural information, arranged fantastic meals and gave us a great blend of both New and Old Panama; he did so while managing a a group of 9 (age ranging from 15 to 65) with an excessive amount (in our defense we had a side trip to Bocas del Toro for diving and snorkeling and brought our own gear). And this alone made him one of the better companies/guides we've hired when compared to trips we've taken to Belize, the Galapagos, the Andes and the Amazon. However where Luis really proved he had a Heart of Gold was wen one of our party got sick in Bocas and when we got back to Panama City needed to spend a couple of days in the hospital. Luis connected us with the best hospital in the region and took care of the rest of our party, providing updates on their adventures while checking in on our needs. He even picked some of us up at the hospital mid tour so they could rejoin the group and salvage some site seeing. And during all of this he adjusted plans to maximize the opportunities for our group amongst all of the confusion an unexpected hospitalization while traveling abroad brings. Luis and Lumo will forever be linked as showing the best of what Panama has to offer from both a tourism perspective and from it's inhabitants.

Our group of 4 adults and 5 teens/young adults spent 3 days with Lumo Tours. We explored the canal in every way (visitor center, viewing from above, and riding through 3 locks), viewed and shopped in Panama City and their old town. Went to the hot springs, rope bridge, and ate a 2 different restaurants that were included in the tours. We were met at the airport as well as brought back. Everything was stop notch! The vehicle we went in was very comfortable. Luis was spectacular, knowledgeable and accommodating in every way. I don’t think it is possible to have had a better tour guide!

We actually live here in Panama and had relatives visiting. So we contacted Luis to set up a tour that we could enjoy and relax with our guests. My favorite part of the tour was taking a dugout canoe up the Chagres River to an Indian Village. It was very interesting to see how the natives live in the jungle. We also did 4 other interesting day trips. Luis took care of all the details and made it easy for us to relax and enjoy. I have since had other visiting groups use Luis for a week and there was never an issue or concern, only happy clients.

I called Luis last minute one day last week. He made fast arrangements, picked me up and I didnt have to worry about a thing. He is a terrific guide for english speakers- he's lots of fun to hang out with and he taught me a lot about Panama. I called him again on my way back through Panama city and he quickly arranged for some great fishing on lake Gatun. There's absolutely no risk to book with Luis. I highly recommend him to anyone.

I traveled to Panama City, Panama with a group of 12 friends. Our stay was from Sunday to Sunday in February. The weather was beautiful and shorts were the typical wardrobe each day.
Luis, owner of Lumo Tours, was our tour guide all week. He was always very punctual to pick us up on time. Each day he took time to show and explain the history. He was very patient to answer our questions throughout the day. If we had a special request to stop, he would always accommodate.
Luis kept a cooler full of a variety of cold drinks in his Mercedes van. When we returned to the van after our last stop of the day, he would hand each person a bag with a sweet treat and a salty treat, plus a frozen rolled up wash cloth.
Our lunches were at restaurants that included salad, vegetable, meat and a drink. Much of the time there was also a dessert.
Luis took us on walking tours of different cities and rain-forests. We used transportation from large boats to very small boats. We went through the Panama Canal; traveled by boat to a remote Indian Village; traveled to an Island to spend the day at the beach. We also drove to Anton Valley.
Luis went the extra mile to help in any way he could. I would highly recommend Lumo Tours. There is not any stress involved with Luis in charge!
Luis always makes your day fun and enjoyable for a memorable Panamanian Vacation!!

We travelled to Panama december 15-25 with my family: my wife, my son 19,,my daughter 20, and myself. First of all, Luis was very prompt in answering my emails and all my requests. We did the Embera Village tour, Anton Valley tour, Monkey island and Gamboa tour, and zip lining. The guide that we had, Michael, was the best guide we ever had on taking tours, and we travel a lot! He was very patient, was a great driver, and was very attentive. We were on all the tours with him and he was very prompt on picking us up from the hotel for the trips. He had plenty of snacks for the rides and even had cold towels to wipe ourselves off after touring during the day. It was like being in first class!! The embera village tour was excellent especially since we were the only ones on tat tour. They know what embera village is the best to visit.i would highly recommend it, my whole family loved it! the AntonValley tour was incredible.we went to a real cool zoo, went on a hike to a waterfall, and had lunch at a restaurant that i am still dreaming about...between the food and the setting it was first class! we also did the hot springs and mud which was a blast. The monkey Island tour was great !!we saw monkeys that actually came up to the boat to fed and saw them climbing in the trees. we had a fantastic buffet lunch at the gamboa resort and went on a canopy tree ride which was very unique, as well as looking at the exhibits at the resort.i would recommend this tour as well. afterwards, we went to the miraflores visitor center on the Panama Canal; very informative and interesting. we all loved it.The last day we did zip-ling at a beautiful lake. Luis has a stellar tour company that provides excellent service. Michael, who took us on our tours was awesome. He had a lot of patience since he even went out of his way to take my wife to different shopping areas. If you are planning a trip to Panama, this is the tour company you need to book! Simply the best! also, Michael knows so much about his country and speaks perfect English!

I am traveling from Ecuador with my family and will be in Panama for a short stay.. We arrive July 18 and depart on 21st..we are a family of 5 with 'young adults between ages 17..23..would like to experience the Panama canal and other activities that would peak the interest of my kids.. Can you suggest some possible options for consideration..

From July 18 to 21st, you will have, at least, 2 days to enjoy Panama, according to your flights' schedules.
The Top 3 Tours for your family in Panama will be:
1) 3 Panama Cities & the Canal Tour. The Ruins of the First Panama City, our famous Old Town and the Modern Skyline of Panama City. Finishing in the Visitors Center of the Panama Canal in Miraflores Locks.
2) Embera Indian Tribe. Enjoy a day in an authentic indigenous tribe in the middle of the jungle. Get on board of a dugout canoe to arrive at their Village, where they live in close contact with nature. Hear their histories, eat their food, dance with them, get a temporary tattoo and show to your kids that it's possible to live without cell phones, wifi, Netflix, and electricity.

We are staying in Casco and are wondering if you do a tour to the Gatun Locks and surrounding area...then back to Casco? Does this path stop at Gamboa Hotel (we are a retired couple and only want to see the area - not climb the tower)? What is the cost for 2? Are you able to do this within the next couple of days? I am so sorry that I didn't check this site sooner to answer your question.
The Embera we visited have their own village some distance from regular civilisation and get along quite nicely maintaining their own customs and village life. They welcome tourists to make money so that particular tribe might purchase more land. They live quite simply without electricity and anything mechanical other than out board motors for their canoes which are hand made from whole trees.

Our specialty are tours for groups of at least 6 people. Our tour to Contadora for just two people becomes very expensive. Add the cost of transportation and lunch for the the guide as well as paying the boat rental for three hours in Contadora for just two people, place the price per person above $ 300. For most spectacular it is, it seems a lot for a day in the Pearl Islands.
