Handa down best tour I've done. From our tour guide Leo to the welcoming hearts of the Embera trip. Ending the day with a boat ride on the canal and feeding the monkeys. The Embera community are welcoming people and feed you their fresh catch of the day (tilapia). The artistry is amazing.

This tour is one of the best group tours we have taken. We usually avoid group tours because they are usually to large and people don't take into consideration that they are in a group and can cause delays. These tours have no more than 10 people. During our tour there were only 8 on the tour.
We went to Monkey Islands which was a great treat. The monkeys are extremely friendly and love eating out of your hands. If you are afraid of animals, this may not be a good idea. The animals are still wild and sudden motions can seem like a threat and they can become aggressive.
We also went to the Panama Canal locks. It was fascinating to see such technology in action.
Our guide was great and really provided a lot of details about the canal, the locks, and the monkeys.

Use PBA tours to visit native village for hike to waterfalls, eating and dancing with natives, and discussions of rich history from the village chief!
This tour is not for the faint of heart. We saw alligators, traversed choppy water in a wooden canoe, hiked 2miles through rocky streams. Take hiking boots, disposable sneakers, or serious water socks.

This trip involved a drive of about 45 minutes from the port at Colon to the point on the Chagres River where we boarded dug-out canoes for the trip up the river to the village. The canoe journey took approximately an hour, hampered as we were by wind and current, and various bird life was on display as we passed through the jungle. The village emerged from the jungle as we approached and, after disembarking carefully, we were taken to the village. The villagers were very friendly and we were provided with a small meal of fish & vegetables, which was followed by a sale of various craft items hand-made by the villagers. A display of traditional dancing then followed and our party spent some time exploring the village and its buildings. The return journey to the canoe boarding point was much quicker than the outward leg due to what was now a following wind. The guide for this tour was excellent as he provided much information about the indians and their way of life , as well as about Panama in general. This was a nice tour enjoyed by the whole party of about 40 people.

This was a great tour, wonderful trip to Panama with our very acknowledgeable tour guide Carlos Rivera. What a great time we had. We went all over Panama and took a boat trip though the Panama Canal and also a boat trip to the Embera' navtive village. Carlos our tour director is a swell guy who seems to know much about the area, as well all the wild life.

CHEVER! We had an amazing trip and truly it was because of our tour guide's expertise in all areas of this trip, Yani's knowledge of Panama history and countryside, her patience and enthusiasm, and her command of multiple languages proved perfect. The personal attention, the sun, and the warmth was exactly what we needed after this long, snowy winter here in New Hampshire, USA.
We were so impressed each day more and more and learned so much more than we expected. We have already shared a lot of information, stories, and Caravan Tours info with many friends. Now we need to brush up on our Spanish speaking!
The accommodations, Gamboa Rainforest Resort, Westinghouse Beach Resort, and the Intercontinental Hotel & restaurants were very happily enjoyed by all of us! The activities and schedule was timed just right and rest time was efficient too. Yani's surprised us with a slide show of photos she had taken of everyone on this group and captured some very special moments. She is a lovely person, who gives her heart & soul & best effort to represent Panama, Caravan Toursa, and her Travelers. CHEVER! GO TO PANAMA!

We took a group tour to one of the native villages. I must admit that they are much more resourceful than I wish to become. I'm not planning to move and join their 'circle' any time soon!

Al van te voren dachten we hier commercie aan te treffen wat logisch is als het een toeristische spot is. De weg erheen is verschrikkelijk om aan te zien met vuil langs de weg omdat de overheid het niet ophaalt. Maar met de kano een national geographic achtige natuur ingaan is fantastisch, om zo richting een toffe waterval te gaan waar we een stukje Heen moesten klimmen om er daarna in te kunnen zwemmen. Once in a lifetime! Daarna bezochten we de stam die ons erg hartelijk ontvingen. Er werd ons alles verteld over hun cultuur, taal en leefwijze. Totaal afhankelijk van de natuur waar ze leven naar hun eigen regels. Bijzonder om dit stukje cultuur mee te krijgen. Maar het zijn wel commerciële indianen, met een vleugje authenticiteit. De gids die we hadden was erg vriendelijk.

The drive to the Emberá Village was on a gravel road puked with pot holes and lined with piles of trash. I got very mixed feelings visiting the Emberá Village. We embarked on very narrow canoes and headed to the village. The ride was very picturesque and nice! The Embera people were very welcoming and beautiful. Shared with us the restrictions and limitations from the Panamanian government. Seems like they were very sad, which saddened us too. The goods that they were selling there we found in the market in the old city of Panama City. Thought they told us they made it there... that made me wonder if indeed it was hand made ...
In any case, it was an experience for us. We used PBA tours. They were prompt and informative. We had mostly private guides.

Just have one day away from cruise ship in Panama City and while this tour sounds amazing, is this a better choice than Hop On/Off bus seeing the old city of Panama and all the historic sites?
