Visiting friends who suggested we check out the new art installation at Sunset Farm. Art on a farm? Yes! Not only were their peaches delicious, the art scattered around their property was just as satisfying. Check out Sunset Farm. Beautiful views, great produce and memorable art installations! All good!

The Gillens have several acres of land right in the heart of Amherst and they actually farm it. They bring their produce to the Amherst Farmer's Market each Saturday. Extra produce can be purchased at the farm, usually at greatly affordable prices. Each week Bill posts a sign at the end of the street indicating what's available at the farm. It's a very low-keyed operation, a bit of "old Amherst".

Sunset Farm encourages you to "Pick Your Own" fruits and vegetables! We grow vegetables, fruits and flowers organically. Greenhouse seedlings are started in February, and end with our last harvest of chestnuts, chard, kale, parsnips, and carrots in November. You may pick your own at anytime. Prices will be listed on this site (go to the News section for a complete price list) as well as posted on the farm's shed. Containers for picking are located in the shed. When you are done, please deposit your money into the locked blue steel box under the scale. Late Friday afternoons, from May thru October, we pick and pack to sell at the Saturday Farmer's Market on the Common. Come help us harvest!
