Great views of Boston skyline, probably one of the best I have seen. Good selection of trails and despite snowy and icy weather, it would have been very enjoyable. However, the entry rules are pretty much ignored by the dog owners, we met 12 dogs with their owners, only 3 were leashed, the rest including some large (even german shepherds) running wild around.

Nice hiking trails including one up to the top of Holt Hill with views of the Boston skyline on a clear day. Combining the Graham and Vetter Trails makes for a good 3 mile hike.

We love Trustees properties and this one was a pleasant surprise.
=Pros:
-Hidden gem even in the snow!
-Huge property, so quiet and with lovely stone walls everywhere.
-Good view from Holt Hill with big open grassy area for the kids to run around, but Boston Hill was more solitude and better views and 2 Adirondack chairs waiting for you if you get there first!
-Nice wide old road trails and well marked trail with maps everywhere.
-Good for brief mountain biking.
-Easy walk up paved road from parking lot to the back of Holt Hill.
-Good for kids, dogs, couples.
-Cool old private residence in the middle of the property.
=Cons:
-Large parking lot so I can see how this property can get crowded, but it was easy to get space alone.
-Elephant rock wasn't that big.
-Good not great, but nice variety and space and quiet.
-You do need to pay for parking if you aren't a member
-There are no facilities.
=Pros:

Gorgeous spot, but only about 25% of the people were masked. Many ostentatiously so. One man smoking at the entrance so no way to stay 6 feet away. Another unmasked woman coughed at us. I wish Trustees could either enforce masks or be as conscientious about signs requiring them as they are about the no parking signs all over the place, placed to placate the neighbors. It would be nice to be able to walk safely. This is not the spot

I brought my 2 and 9 year old daughters here we did the shortest hike up to the solstice stones there was. I think it was about 1 mile total. My 2 year old (will be 3 in November) absolutely loved and had no problem with the hike. My 9 year old liked it but wished we could do more. Can't wait to come back with the 9 year old and explore some more and do some of the longer trails. The top of the hill had some beautfiul views, even on the way up we had some spots with wonderful views. The Solstice stone were pretty cool at the top too. The kids enjoyed playing at the top for a bit

We got an online map and departed from Flagship drive along nice trails and by swamps. We didn’t make it to Boston Hill. Next time!!

We have gone to the top of holt hill many times since we live nearby. It is our "go to" place on the weekend for a short hike. There are several ways to get to the top and depending on the time at hand we use one of the trails. The view at the top always feels rewarding. You can see the Boston skyline and the greenery from Andover all the way to Boston. My kids used to go sledding down the hill in winter when they were young. What fun!

It was so cold new years eve day on the hill. It is a cool place with nice long distance view of Boston and the southern sky. I had hoped to view a moon set but you can't see due west well from the summit. They close the parking lot a night fall so you would have to street park which is very tight (narrow street). It is worth a visit and the trails are very good.

Ward reservation an idyllic way to spend some time in the woods exploring some ancient Andover roads, find Phillips Andover’s old ski jump, walk in the fields while enjoying a distant view of Boston or climb the fire tower for excitement. The Trustees have created a place where you could hike for a day and not see the same thing twice, all within a couple of square miles. There is a parking fee but it’s a small price to pay for well kept trails and maps to find them just a short drive from either of the Andovers.

Lovely trail. 3 trails merging with each other (Red, Blue & Yellow). Amazing Fall view. Dog friendly. Lovely Bog. Peace, serene, calm. Photographers paradise. $5 parking fee is not much for such enchanting experience. A must visit for fall view as you don't have to drive far off to experience it!!

Is there close parking for elderly/disabled/handicapped at the top of the hill, or is the only way up via the trail system

From the parking lot, there is a paved road up to the fire tower. You can't drive up there. It is a little steep in parts, but it is not that long of a walk (5-8 minutes depending on your speed). You will need to walk on grass to get to the fire tower/solstice stones/view. It would be difficult to get a wheelchair over the grass for that part, maybe.
