The road to Bumbora Beach is now sealed all the way down to a grassy reserve and parking area that has picnic tables, toilet facilities etc.
A grassed area leads down to an excellent boardwalk that snakes its way through the trees and across a stream before it slopes down to the beach proper. There is a lookout to the right hand side as you go down the boardwalk (no steps) but if you continue down to the beach it gradually slopes down and there are 22 easy steps.
It was pretty rough on both occasions we went down there, with plenty of rocks, and it didn't look inviting just to go for a swim - Emily Bay far better. There were however some good waves off the point for board riders.

Easily the jewel in the crown of all the beaches and bays of Norfolk Island. I was told Bumboras Beach is the place locals snorkel, and swim. Unfortunately conditions were a bit rough for snorkeling, but gee this was a beautiful place. Even before I reached Bumboras Beach, while descending the boardwalk there, I was taking heaps of video and photos. Goes over a nice stream. Then you get to Bumboras Beach with Cresswell Bay around you, wow, it doesn't get better than this. Even found a dragon on the beach.

This delightful spot is also known locally as Bumboras. We drove to the end of the road (quite steep), then took a short walk along a boardwalk through the forest to emerge at a beautiful little cove. The beach is small and more boulders than sand but it is still picture-postcard stuff. There was a bit of a surf break happening and a few local kids (oldest about 13) were out there making the most of it. Lovely spot, and I suspect a big favourite with the locals.

A little difficult to get there, last few hundred metres of the road is unsealed & steep. Don’t try it in wet conditions. Not a problem in a normal sedan when dry. Very professionally built boardwalk takes you down to the waters edge. Not a difficult walk, only about 200 metres. The view at the waters edge is brilliant.

Bit of dirt road in. Nice boardwalk to the beach from car park. At low tide we snorkelled around in the bay. Lots of coral. Also enjoyed relaxing in the rock pools. Worth doing

This is a great little beach with a well maintained boardwalk from the parking area down to the beach. Access appears to be limited when it is raining or wet as the vehicle access road is dirt and steep. You might be lucky to have the beach all to yourself. Also known as Bumbora Beach.

Boardwalk down to beach. Beautiful spot. Irregularly this is a good surf break - according to locals. Great spot for a walk.

Cresswell Bay is located at the bottom of Bumbora Reserve on Bumbora Road. It's very popular for rock fishing and swimming in the rockpools.

The road in was dirt and quite steep. There is a parking area ad a short walk alongside a small stream along a boardwalk to the beach. There is a lookout over the bay on the way down.
The views over the bay and towards Nepean and Phillip Islands were great. It was low tide when we were there and the beach had mainly rocks interspersed with sandy areas. A lovely secluded beach.
