Visited here a couple of times during our stay to catch the sunset but unfortunately the weather was not playing ball.
Coastline here, as with much of Norfolk Island, was very rugged and quite stunning.
Picnic and toilet facilities were very good.

This is a great spot to come to to watch the sunset! Also it’s cow feeding time so that’s a sight to see as they’re fed next to the park. Lots of picnic tables and a bbq under cover. Lots of cow pats so it’s good tables are provided for picnics!

I walked to Selwyn Reserve (which Puppy's Point is a part of) coming from the top end of the island. I was on my way back to Burnt Pine, having walked Norfolk Island National Park trails (a must do, especially the Bird Rock Trail) and finishing at the Captain Cook Memorial, I decided to instead of backtracking, to walk back via Captain Cook Road, Bullocks Hut Road, Anson Bay Road etc, the latter which is where I came upon my right, Selwyn Reserve. I did do a bit of bush bashing style walking since there aren't any paths at the northern end, to get to some views of the ocean, then returned to the road as there is a creek separating that part and the Puppy's Point area part, where I continued along the road, a cow followed me for a while and then I came across as the road bent, I saw on the horizon a pine tree which made an excellent photo. I noticed of course that there were no trees at this part of the coastline so of course decided to detour onto the grass, where I noticed another Selwyn Reserve sign. I passed a picnic table, put my bag on it and went and took some photos of the shoreline, some interesting rocks getting plummeted by waves, but not as spectacular as those I'd just seen on the coastline in the National Park. Nor that I would later walk to and take photos from the cliffs in Hundred Acres for that matter. It did have a toilet block which was handy when you've been walking for a while.
When I explained where I'd walked to after the National Park to locals, they told me, yeah it's pretty quiet there in the day, but because of the fact you park right there near the cliff, it's a spot many go to watch the sunset. It's also the setting for at least one of the two main tour companies' Fish Fry events, if not both. So if you don't want to walk and haven't rented a car, booking to do that is probably you're best way of getting here. But for me, it wasn't quite as spectacular a place as the rest of the island.

Had a short walk here. Some nice views over the coast and there are good facilities here for a bbq or picnic. Sounds like sunset is the best time to visit (we were too early).

This is one of the locations for the Baunti Fish Fry so a great spot for viewing the sunset. We did our Fish Fry with Pinetree which is on a property just nearby.
Also just a good spot to stop during the day for views along the rugged coastline. It is quite a large open reserve with lots of room for parking.

This is a short side road on the west coast. Rugged coast, waves and endless sea. A quiet spot to park the car and go for a walk.

Drove through here and stopped briefly on the way to Anson's Bay. We intended to return later in the week but the weather was conducive for great sunsets. Supposedly a favourite amongst locals as a 'Lover's Lane'.

Along with Anson Bay, Puppy's Point is one of the best sunset viewing points on the island. Good picnic facilities, BBQs. toilets, tables and shelter, loads of parking and plenty of grassed area. We enjoyed sunset with a mix of cold meats and cheese plus a bottle of wine, a memorable experience.

We were told Puppy's Point is the best spot to go to for sunsets and we can't disagree with that. After visiting the Sunset Bar (which I think operates Sundays only) ventured across the road and through the tress to view the setting sun. Superb

Do drop into the Sunset Bar. It is popular with locals and tourists. A lovely range of cocktails and snacks in pretty, comfortable garden setting.
