Es un lugar muy atractivo, con muchos productos hechos de chocolate, cremas, protectores labiales jabones etc.
Además tiene artesanías bellas y souvenirs

i bought these choclate discs that i didnt realize are for making hot chocolate, you simply drop them into hot water or hot milk and they dissolve. they are great. too bad i was eating them like a big cookie, lol

This is just a small shop with a corner of history. (Maybe my expectations were great! LOL) Dont go just for it, you will be bored and dissapointed. But if you are touring Antigua, stop in and say hi, the people are very nice!

Naja.

Did this with our family it was great that they did it in English and Spanish
The tour itself was just OK it was a little wordy.
they ran out of items to make our chocolate bar. We were not each given a mortar and pestle it was difficult to pass back-and-forth to make our chocolate paste.
We had a reservation but there must have been 20 people in our group and I felt it was just too many people.
All in all I would not go back

The ChocoMuseo team regrets that your experience did not meet your expectations at all, unfortunately prior to your reservation request we already had a group signed up for the class and although if we anticipated and gave more time options, perhaps we should have emphasized with more emphasis that with you it would end up being a very large group. Im really sorry for that. It coincided with a holiday in Guatemala (independence day) and the influx of people was much greater than the normal traffic in the store. I sincerely apologize and personally regret that you are not returning in the future because we would like the opportunity to make amends with you and your family. We appreciate your visit and participation. Sincerely.

This isn’t really a museum, more like a store, with displays about making chocolate and a chance to do a workshop. It’s free to enter in, so worth a few moments. We were interested in the workshop and asked several people working there (in Spanish so no language issues) how to get in line or sign up, but people kept pointing to the workshop table with no information. We stood at the table for about 5-10 minutes but no one came to help. Eventually we gave up.

The four star rating comes from the little silver shop in the back—Goretti’s Jade which had pretty jewelry, made by a family, good prices for gifts, lots of time to browse. 4208-2554 what’s app

The tour guide was misleading and told lies to my children about white chocolate,
to the point that they didn't even want to taste it. I mean for god's sake, they sell chocolate bars, including white chocolate so they shouldn't talk bad about their own products. I'm aware that anything in excess is bad, but come on, scare little girls to think that it was poison is pretty stupid. I had to explain my girls that it is ok to eat it . She mentioned that her daughter was a baby she ate a lot of chocolate and now that she is 15 years old she has a lot of acne and is ugly because she ate a lot of chocolate when little. Can you believe that? They sell "the experience" and chocolate and their own people talk bad about chcolate.
I was there almost 5 years ago and had a great experience, but now I can say it has declined a lot and that it is not worth it. There are other places in Antigua that you can try.

I am very sorry to have disappointed you and that your experience was not as great as the one you remembered from your first visit. We have met with the workshop guides to discuss connection with kids, how delicate it is use jokes, irony and stories with them as they might still take the words literally. I'm truly sorry it impacted your daughters and yourself so badly :( We're work in progress, and we' are aiming to get to the best standards. We pride ourselves in paying a lot of attention to the information that we impart and in producing great high cacao content chocolate; it is a pity that this time it was not reflected in that way. We recognize we might have missed something on the training of that teacher and some reorienting is in order... Regards, Clara-Isabel

Maybe it was the expectation that I’d find a museum that made this place so uninteresting but really, it’s just a shop with chocolate deserts and some souvenirs. Not sure what the fuzz is all about. Overall not worth the stop.

Ohh :( I'm sorry you didn't get to live the ChocoMuseo experience as it is meant. I'm guessing we didn't accompany you to the back where we explain, in person, the chocolate making process right from the cacao tree, the history of how cacao moved from south America to the whole world and transformed from a drink to something that's eaten. Probably you didn't get either to sample our chocolates and get to taste the differences born from these of different cacaos. We're right now having trouble to cope with increasing demand, post pandemic, and are working on reverting to regular staff amount and training standards, so that we can reach our goal of offering to everyone the special experience that so many people already had with us. Please come back and give us another chance !

We left the class after 45 minutes rather than endure the rest. The information provided was simplistic and inaccurate. The instructor made immature and crude jokes, at one point coating his fingers with liquid chocolate and referring repeatedly to feces. There are no seats or stools so one stands for the entirety of the experience in an overcrowded classroom. Unfortunately, the chocolate itself is no better than the class.

This class may be suitable to preteens or teens, but I would discourage anyone who enjoys chocolate or accurate information from participating.

Oooh wow :( I feel awful reading your comment. There is one thing in particular that I want to check, think about and assess: How to attend highly heterogeneous groups? We both have to deal with people that show boredom when we provide technical and historical information, and others like you who are already highly educated in cacao culture and are looking for state of the art data. When we are able to spot those peculiarities, we can do a great job for everyone! I wish you would have raised your issues back at the class; and for other readers here: Please make it easier for us to offer you with a special attention. Come to us and share that you'd rather have a private highly technical class! Tell us if you want a chair! Ideally we would spot those thoughts just by a look in your eyes... But hey, we're not there yet in client understanding... So please, help us help you :) To be fair with us, it actually made it more difficult for us that you arrived late to the class. The introduction is a moment when we evaluate expectations. As for the maximum of people we attend in a class, our policy is of 10, which have been OK with the vast majority of participants so far. We're going to keep an eye on it and think if we should tweak the policy with other parameters. Sending you good vibes for the rest of your journey, Clara-Isabel

Deliciosa las comidas y bebidas. Terraza refrescante y cómoda para compartir. La tienda y el personal abarcan tus dudas sobre el proceso del chocolate
