Good place to eat out at a reasonable price. We ate at four places as we were there four nights. The hotel was to expensive to eat in

We took the ferry from Dubrovnik Harbour in the morning, it took about 40 minutes. The approach to Captat is very scenic as you sail into the old part of the town and tie up on the promenade. It takes about 30 minutes to stroll from one end of the half-moon cove to the other. There is a walk through the woods and another around the far side into a modern cove with hotels and huge car park. Back at the main, village, cove there many nice restaurants, cafes, and small shops. The old churches and residential properties on the hillside behind the harbour cove give it a lovely scenic feel. We preferred Captat to the other "island" cruises that we did.

Warning….this is a long review to help you enjoy Lapad
Lapad is ideal location. €2 bus ride to the Old City, with the number 6 bus operating every 10 mins and takes 10 mins. You can also buy 72 hour ticket from the little office at the Main bus stops.
Lapad has beaches and a Harbour. It’s also hilly, you can guarantee that you’ll need to climb steps at some point. Our accommodation was 5 mins walk (down) to Lapad promenade area.
The promenade area is beautiful, the tree lined walkway/pedestrian area is complete with bars & restaurants. Prices started from €18 for burgers to €€€ for some seafood and posher restaurants. We paid €18 for a burger in one place, but in the one next to the Mexican, a burger was €30!!
Similarly, drink prices really varied too, depending on what you’re after. Large beer between €5.50 €7. Wine was a good price, especially if you have the nice Croatian wine and not the imported ones
Off the promenade you’ll find Scala - great food, Ma Belle, cheap & great drinks
As you head to the Harbour, search out Shelbys for food and drinks, further along the harbour you’ll find a great range of restaurants
Plenty of Supermarkets - and a large good one called Tommy’s, and a nice bakery at Ma Belle.
The beaches are pebbly, buy beach shoes, we didn’t and we struggled! Water is clear. Sunbeds expensive. You’ll see people on the concrete, on the beach and lots of empty sunbeds. Clearly they’re out pricing themselves.
Copacaba beach is gorgeous, but the only has one beach bar with extortionate food prices and pay for the toilets.
Lapad beach is surrounded by the cafes/restaurants
And finally, if you’ve read this far, the best tip is to take cash. They want cash and many places offer a cash discount.
Oh and the water is safe to drink, places will fill your water bottle and there are fountains in the old City to refill
Old City is fabulous early morning, before the coaches of tourists arrive from the cruise ships.

Considero que es la mejor zona para alojarse, cerca de las playas, de la peatonal y zona de restaurantes.
Si hay que ir en taxi al casco antiguo que no es tan caro. Esta zona tiene vistas hermosas y es mas barata que en el casco antiguo.

Spiagge sporche, prezzi assurdi per quello che offrono.
Gli intrattenimenti sono scarsi, e per intrattenimento parlo anche di gelaterie e bar.
Gli spostamenti sono difficili, perché se si è in auto trovare un parcheggio è difficile, se si è a piedi ci sono troppo salite.
Qui inoltre, l'attenzione per il turista è pari a zero e le persone non sono per niente cordiali. Mi è capitato di essere trattata male anche nel supermercato solo perché non parlavo croato ma solo inglese.
Gli intrattenimenti sono scarsi, e per intrattenimento parlo anche di gelaterie e bar.
Gli spostamenti sono difficili, perché se si è in auto trovare un parcheggio è difficile, se si è a piedi ci sono troppo salite.

Took a boat trip from Dubrovnik Old Town. Took about 45 mins, lovely harbour area with cafes and bars. Took a walk around, beautiful scenery, lovely lunch and a beer before swimming from the rocks, beautiful place would certainly return.

Beautiful area within an easy Uber ride into the old city. Nice little beach with beautiful clean water and plenty of restaurants to choose from within walking distance. There is also a lovely promenade to walk along with gorgeous sea views

It's truly a magnificent place, the view,the restaurants, the vibe, everyone is so nice, be aware of taxi drivers with no meter running, always ask to run the meter, we got scammed the first night but always learning from experience, must visit and stay in this area 😀

When does the season end in Lapad? If we went from 24-29 October, would restaurants, shops, water sports still be open at that time of year?

Hello. I stayed in Lapad in June/July which is high season and many cafeterias and restaurants where closed or had just vanished due to the pandemic. In October the situation might be worse with less tourists.

We didn't go to Babin Kuk, unfortunately, as I was told that was more residential. There are dozens of bars and restaurants in Lapad. Some upmarket hotels too.We had one of best meals of our holiday there. A nice beach and safe swimming areas in the sea and a children's swimming area. There is also the famous Cave Bar which is part of the More Hotel. Lovely, but drinks a bit more pricey there. There is a nice walk which takes you on a coastal path past the More Hotel.

Water taxis: We used a water taxi from near the ferry port to Lapad which is just across the water. If you want the beach it is then a 15 min walk from where the water taxi drops you off. The cost is 10kn (about a £1.10) ask for a card from the boatman then you can call him for your return, bear in mind that he only works until around 5pm. Your cheapest way to the Old City will be by bus!

Approfitto per fare qualche domanda su Lapad e sulla vacanza in generale. Stiamo pensando di fare una 10 di giorni di vacanza a Dubrovnik con la famiglia e mi chiedevo se è il caso alloggiare a lapad oppure cambiare zona. Vorrei una zona che ha il mare raggiungibile a piedi ma che allo stesso tempo non sia un mortorio di notte. Ho letto in giro che la città vecchia è sconsigliata per alloggiare ma è preferibile magari visitarla tramite i bus. Volevo inoltre sapere se a lapad le spiagge sono libere o eventualmente il costo di quelle private. Inoltre con,è il costo della vita in Croazia? Mi hanno detto esse caro ma da internet leggo che il costo della vita è simile a quello di napoli o Italia in generale!. Chi c'è stato può dirmi un po' come stanno le cose in generale? Mi sarebbe di grandissimo aiuto, aspettorisposta. Un. Saluto
