The museum was nice and cheap and in a nice place downtown, but my boyfriend and I found it very disappointing. The museum has good reviews so we thought it would be a nice option, but after half an hour we were already outside. It is messy and many display cases are empty, for example. Some interesting things are not explained, or there is only explanation in Croatian. Also it seemed like the receptionist didn't want us there haha. There are no interactive games/videos. We do not recommend this museum.

Imteresting museum BUT please teach the staff to be gentle and well educated towards the visitors. We were enjoying our visit when I heard a staff yelling "you can't visit the museum wihout a ticket "thought that there were someone next to me without a ticket but to my surprise she was referring to me.I did had a ticket and was really angry for this kind of behaviour.

Payment only in cash, many tourists including us do not enter for this reason. Really absurd as a museum thing.

The Archaeological Museum is located in a new building near the old Roman Forum. The museum's fascinating collections feature objects dating from prehistoric times to recent times and come from the Zadar area and islands. The highlights are glass pieces from Roman times and liturgical objects from early Christianity and the medieval period. Address: Trg opatice Cike. Open from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 3pm.

Even my wife was impressed, and she gets bored quite quickly with such museums. We were in here for 2-3 hours and were so impressed with it. I could spend so much more time here.

The Archaeological Museum of Zadar (Croatian: Arheoloski muzej Zadar) offers numerous exhibits from the city's history on three floors. The exhibitions are OK, but nothing special. Considering the entrance fee of €5, a visit would not be a must for me. It is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The building is located directly at the forum and looks a bit neglected from the outside.

It is an average museum. Museum is about roman empire. Not as big as I thought and hoped for but a nice little knowledge bank so if you have some extra time sure go its okay.

Interesting museum and well-located - from upstairs you have a good view of the forum ruins.
Lots of fascinating artefacts including beautiful mosaics under glass in some sections.
The only bad point is that the descriptions (Croatian and English) are in very small white type on a poorly lit black background to the side of each item, at a slightly awkward angle and rather high up. But for some we just enjoyed the item without learning about it!

A small but interesting museum with lots of Roman artefacts and history, and also some prehistory too. Very enjoyable!

It depends as an adult I paid 30 kuna but it was free for my kids who are 7 and 13
