Promenade very well maintained. Many people can walk 🚶♀️ well. Many souvenir stops and small artisans.

The Paseo Maritimo or the Promenade of Zadar or the Riva is the seafront promenade of Zadar, which stretches from the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun in the north to the University in the south. The path is beautifully laid out and worth seeing.

The promenade contains both the sea organ and the Salutation to the Sun work. They are beautiful to walk along the quay and look at the sea, very well visited as well.

Large promenade with some trees in the middle, ideal if you are looking for shadow in the July heat.

The Zadar seafront called Riva, is a place of meeting, gathering and happenings, as well as a place for pleasant strolls with the view over the Ugljan and Pašman islands, and the endless open sea to the northwest. It is a lovely seaside promenade that surrounds the peninsula of Zadar. The Riva is best described as a public "runway" where people go to see and be seen dressed in their trendiest outfits, always accessorized with an ice-cream cone.
By day, the Riva is a park and beach where people aren't shy about stripping down and taking a dip. At night Zadar's beautifully landscaped Riva is a hive of activity, with a few vendors' stalls, traditional a cappella groups singing as they stroll, and folks getting exercise.
It is lined by magnificent palm trees, ancient holm oaks and other lush vegetation, as well as plenty of benches to sit down and watch the world go by.
The construction of Riva started in 1868 when, by the order of the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph, Zadar was no longer a city-fortress, and that reflected very quickly on its urban development. Only a few years later many of the city ramparts were demolished and Zadar opened towards the sea with its new seafront.
As early as the beginning of the 20th century, luxurious palaces were built, as well as dock for passenger boats. Parks were cultivated and the promenade laid out for the enjoyment of Zadar’s citizens.
During our visit, a section of the riva was being renovated and at the far end we found the Sea Organ and Greetings to the Sun solar display. If you do not want to walk its full length, go at least to watch the sunset. It is quite the show, happens each evening, and its free.

Zadar es una ciudad de Croacia muy pequeña y fácil de recorrer en un día, lo más destacado en ella es el Paseo marítimo que consta de el saludo al sol y el órgano del mar único en el mundo. El órgano de mar está situado en este paseo y aprovecha la construcción de mármol superior, donde debajo hay una serie de tubos de diferentes longitudes y anchura, que cuando reciben el impacto del mar producen sonidos creando música. Y como todo depende de la fuerza del mar cuando peor está el mar mejor se oye el órgano. Traté de filmar grabando su sonido pero con tanto turismo que hay en este lugar se escuchan más las voces de las personas, Por eso hay que visitarlo y experimentar esa maravilla única en el mundo. Si están recorriendo Croacia vale la pena acercarse y conocerlo.

ZADAR - As cidades croatas tem sempre essa avenida margeando as águas cristalinas do Adriático. Algumas atrações como “órgão ao mar” , píer e saudação ao sol estão nessa Riva.
