I had a layover in Dubai. My travel companion was going on to London and I was going to New York. My friend's flight was almost right away but I had a whole afternoon and evening, and wanted to get out of the airport to see the city. I researched my options and found with locals Communication with Sandy and Jose beforehand was very easy, and I felt very comfortable making the arrangements to meet up. Sandy picked me up at the airport and gave me a tour of Old Dubai, New Dubai, and per my request customized it to finish with the fountain show before taking me back to the airport with plenty of time before my flight. It was extremely hot in Dubai at that time, and I definitely wouldn't have been able to go out and visit on my own with the heat and humidity. Having the opportunity to tour in a comfortable, air-conditioned van was amazing. I had the opportunity to take lots of pictures and walk around local sights (while also being able to go back to the van to cool down and move on to the next stop). I'm really glad I found out about this opportunity because I believe this tour really gave me a chance to get to know Dubai despite only being in Dubai for a layover! My favorite part was the food tasting -- it was so delicious, I got seconds!!

I had two days free and scheduled a tour to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, old and new, with Sandy. I had an excellent tour of both cities. Sandy was very knowledgeable about the history of Dubai. He was flexible with the time and the locations we visited. After the first day's tour to Abu Dhabi, Sandy recommended that I see the mall and Burj Khalifa that evening. The next day, Sandy asked me if I had made it to the mall and the Burj Khalifa. I told him I was too tired that evening. To my surprise, at the end of the second-day tour, Sandy told me to visit the mall, the Burj Khalifa, and several other locations instead of dropping me off at my hotel. He went the extra mile to ensure I had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend using them as your tour guide while in Dubai.

Everything from start to finish was wonderful. Sandy met us at the Airport with a fantastic smile right on time. We were taken to a brand-new Toyota which was luxurious, met the driver who was wonderful the whole tour.
We not only saw the old and new of Dubai, but we also had a boat trip across to the canal. Before the boat ride he introduced us to a "not so spicy" kebab, which was delicious. The number of photos we got was incredible as the driver kept stopping at all the top spots. We encourage to book Sandy & Jose for a tour especially a "Night Tour", best way to see Dubai. We had a 11-and-a-half-hour layover, it certainly made the time go by having this tour. Thank You both again.

I did a layover tour with Sandy in Dubai in May 2024 and really enjoyed it! There was clear communication prior to my arrival and Sandy and the driver were there when I landed. We went to several different landmarks in the span of 7 hours and Sandy was able to keep the conversation going all day, which I appreciated. I enjoyed hanging out with Sandy and learnt so much about Dubai and the UAE. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking to discover Dubai in a short period of time. Thank you so much Sandy for such a wonderful day!

We have booked a foodtour in the old part of Dubai with Kasim which was then led by Melwyn.
Being very friendly and open-minded, gave us interesting insights into traditional food and cultural aspects of the country. We quickly got into a lively exchange with him.
The food locations were very well selected and covered the Arabian cousine. The tour was anything but hurried and Melwyn even dropped us off at the metro station after the end of the tour.
Overall, a fully recommended tour with Melwyn!

My work friend and I made a fairly last-minute decision to put our 12+hour layover in Dubai to good use. The algorithm brought me to Withlocals and to Sandy, and I am so very happy it did!! Sandy met us upon arrival at DBX and we were whisked away to Old Dubai and pretty quickly found ourselves immersed in the old souks of Dubai. This tour was incredibly thoughtfully laid out and a perfect combination of history, food sampling, shopping opportunity, culture, and architecture. We had the most amazing experience and felt comfortable and safe the entire time. Now, we have had the whirlwind tour, we want to come back for a longer trip. Thank you so much Sandy for being a remarkable human! Please continue this fantastic tour!

Don’t hesitate to book with these guys. We had Sandy and a wonderful driver and they were both wonderful and accommodating and so thoughtful. The tour is great and Sandy knows so much about Dubai. Just don’t hesitate to go with them. They are fantastic (and I’m an ex travel journalist!)

On vacation I want to make the most of my time, I appreciate well organisation and punctuality, a busy day with lots of information and experiences to take back.
I got all I wanted!!
Communication from the beginning was easy and the right amount of sharing was done. Sandy was very helpful in customising a second excursion and we really enjoyed his proposals for day 2.
Even though it was Ramadan the places we visited have been lively and mostly open. And a spontaneous workaround for the ones that had been closed was found.
We enjoyed the private walk and taste tour and the little shopping that was involved !!!
And we also enjoyed the private dessert safari with quad bike add on (suggest to always go outside of the gate into the real dunes with a guide!)

Private tour best of Dubai... on Feb. 2nd next year. I already have a tour booked to the desert that afternoon. Would i have time to take your tour starting at 9 to get back by 1:30 or so? I will be staying at the Fairmont Palm Jumeirah. thank you

You will be thrilled with your layover tour with Withlocals. We were guided by Anand on a tour of the old city and he was just fabulous. We enjoyed his company so much that we added on to our agreed on 3 hr tour and had him show us around the whole city. It was horribly hot when we were there so the "walk" was cut short in the 106 degree heat and we used an air conditioned car. He made sure we were comfortable and that we had a chance to appreciate this crazy wonderful city. Withlocals can arrange for any type of tour you want so check their web site to see what is available. The cost is very reasonble and much better than wandering around half lost. I didn't go to Dubai to shop, but there is shopping available on a massive level if you're interested. Some of the malls are worth seeing just for the side attractions, i.e., the indoor ski hill, surfing beach and the evening water/light show. I love the old town best because of the shops, artist's galleries and lively activities. Your guide will make sure you get a good feel for the city. Enjoy!

Re, Day in Dubai:
We organized the pick up directly with our guide via text. He provided ahead of time the best way of contacting each other. Our guide, Suqlain, picked us up from our hotel lobby and we were dropped back there at end of day. (He also made a hotel recommendation based on our needs ie close to airport and breakfast included. )We did not buy a mobile chip for our phone; all our communication was via internet messaging available free at hotel and airport.
