Castillo Wulff is impressive, even being closed to visitors when I went in November 2023. The beauty of the castle with the Pacific in the background is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Even without entering, it is worth admiring the view from the outside. A lovely setting!

Para os viajantes que pretendem conhecer Vinã Del Mar sozinhos (sem auxílio de agência de turismo) é importante saber que o Castelo Wulf está fechado para reformas, assim como todo o calcadão. Essa informação não consta (ainda) aqui no T.A e em nenhum dos blogs que consultei.

Made a day trip from Valparaiso specifically to see this gem that is along an ocean front road. The same ocean front road -- from the Sheraton, past Castillo Wulff, an onward -- is under active construction so the entrance, parking lot, EVERYTHING IS COMPLETELY INACCESSIBLE. What a bummer and bad for tourism.

It is currently closed. You can walk onto the terrace to see the sea view. Good for bird watchers, as there are pelicans and egrets on the rocks. There are birds of prey across the road.

O castelo é realmente muito belo, com todo o litoral ao fundo faz um charme a parte. Uma pena que estava fechado e foi possível apenas espiá-lo pelas grades e tirar fotos externas.
Na região há muitas coisas bonitas para se conhecer, então não é um passeio perdido, jamais.

A decir verdad a mi pareja lo iba a llevar a dónde está el mirador pero pudimos entrar ya que había una exposición. Primera vez que entraba al castillo, de muchas ocasiones que fui a la ciudad, nunca había podido entrar. Muy bello, pero ojalá lo sigan manteniendo ya que se notaba que por la humedad las paredes del exterior estaban gastándose. Pero muy bello

Por fuera y considerando su entorno, es la postal de Viña. Precioso, pero por dentro no hay nada que ver, que gran desilusión. Deben estar amoblado y decorado, como en su época gloriosa.

There were quite a few wealthy people living in Vina del Mar at the beginning of the 20th century. Gustavo Wulff was a very successful trador both in saltpeter and coal. He migrated to Chile in 1881 and made his fortune. He was from Germany and he wanted his own castle. He hired an architect to do so. It went through several additions even including a bridge between towers. When Herr Wulff died, his daughter made some additional changes after World War II. She used the same architect to do so.
The government eventually acquired the property and in 1995, it was pronounced a National Historical Monument by Chilean Law.
There is a small museum there now which probably is not worth your time. This is a very nice photo opportunity though!
