My Uncle Hank (Henry Reitan) had been a premier musician at the Woodtick Theatre for many years. I have had the honor of having him preform at my wedding and have enjoyed many of his preformances while growing up. I have visited the Woodtick only once but enjoyed every minute of the show. All of the musicians and singers are so talented and Lena is a HOOT! I recommend swinging into Akley and taking in their show if you are in the area. It is worth your time and money! Love you Uncle Henry!

This is our third time we have been here and they always has some changes. Never the same show or songs. You can tell they all love what they are doing. I hope it is around for many years to come. Popcorn was even very good.

Everyone there was fun and upbeat. The theater is quite old but that also gives it it's charm. Musicians are good and play music that I liked. Corny jokes that were either delivered well or fell flat. A sure stop if staying in the Walker- Park Rapids area.

We were treated to an evening at the Woodtick Theatre. It was A little bit of Branson in the northcountry. There is something for everyone. Great music by very talented performers as well as A great comedy routines. This is A show appropriate for all ages.

Friends took us to the theater for a great nice of music and fun. A great combination of very talented folks, singing, telling jokes and just having a great time. Cozy little venue, the seats were a bit stiff but there is an intermission to walk around and stretch your legs and get "a pop and popcorn"! Thoroughly enjoyed the first half of the show this past Saturday night, but the second have started slow but ended with a nice closing number.
You will also learn about "Uff Da" ! LOL!
Congrats on 25 years at the Woodtick and here is to 100 more!

Local musicians with fun music and lots of musical talent. this is a fun show and the theater has lots of charisma!

some part of our family goes to the Woodtick Theatre every summer and every year it is a little different but always good. This summer we were very impressed with Brian Bass. the guitarist. He has a bright future ahead of him.
The fiddler (Jeff Menten) was the best and I loved his closing first act routine....was that an ode to Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" smile as the curtain was closing? Or perhaps "Snidely Whiplash?"
Greg Gaston, the drummer, was fantastic and his skills were really on display during their "Hawaiian Set"
And Diane Sauer? what a stage presence. I would love to see her do a Rosemary Clooney song or two. Her glittering dress and beautiful voice brings me to Nashville itself.
Time goes by very fast at the Woodtick. But the Theatre itself takes you back in time! And what an enjoyable trip it is!
p.s. I do miss the occasional Ole and Lena skits....would be nice to bring back I think.

This quaint little theater is located in the northern Minnesota town of Akeley, boasting a population of about 500 people. The theater has a rustic exterior, a standing room only lobby offering popcorn and snacks, and a long and narrow seating area leading up to to stage. The chairs are vintage 1950.
After a brief introduction, an amazing thing happens. You and everyone else in the audience are suddenly drawn into the music unfolding on stage. If there were windows in the theater you'd expect to look out and see laundry hanging on the line and an old yellow dog lying by the pump as the local musicians work their magic with guitars, violins, drums, keyboards, banjos, and their voices. The music will touch you with a blend of country, bluegrass, contemporary, and even a little gospel. There is "real fiddlin", hand-clapping, sing-along, and great deadpan humor.
I was skeptical about going to the Woodtick Theater, but boy am I glad I went. It's really refreshing to to listen to and enjoy this amazing, real America, collection of regional talent.

Every couple of years, we head over to the Woodtick in Akeley! This year I brought my 86 year old mom on a mother/daughter trip. We both enjoyed the dry humor along with the fine musicianship of the Woodtick! Always enjoy visiting--my family has been visiting here for the past 20 years!
