Our hotel was near Cambolac's workshop and we thought we would pop in and, if we thought it was a rip-off , we would quickly leave. Instead it was a nice experience to see an organization that was supporting an artisanal mission in Siem Reap. Our guide was hearing impaired and so we learned to develop some interpretative skills as he showed us the different operations of the facility. Very basic production facilities, but they turn out some very nice items. Lacquerware seemed to be the primary focus here, but they also had some carved wood items and we ultimately bought a number as gifts. They also have an additional location in Siem Reap in the King's Road Market. The workshop is close to "downtown", but on a quiet side street and we were the only ones there at the time. Have a look and see if you agree.

What an incredible experience, I’m overwhelmed by the beautiful and upmarket handmade wares to especially the philosophy behind the shop. Cambolac hires the most disadvantaged people and then empowers them with skills to make a career. The shop staff are deaf and that didn’t stop them from having a good laugh with us, they were so professional. The workmanship is absolutely incredible. You need to visit Cambolac and support these amazing artists.

This little place is such a hidden gem, and was a personal highlight of my whole Cambodia experience. It is evident that the people working within this community are pull of pride and passion, and was so very happy to have us come and visit them. Although the majority of people here are deaf, everyone was able to communicate so effectively, and it was so clear the love that they have for their work.

La visite de l atelier de Cambolac a été très intéréssante, nous avons visité l'atelier avec le patron de l' atelier qui est français pendant une heure. Ils ont un atelier géré par des cambogiens sourds muets très avenants.Ils gèrent l atelier presque seuls et chacun géré sa partie. Ils offrent des serviettes fraîches et de l'eau a la fin de la visite. Je vous le recommande, très belle découverte, belle boutique de souvenirs de très beaux produits en lac.

After visiting Kinh Creations, I dropped in the Cambolic. Lots of ceramic elephants but the best choice are the drink coasters. They gave a wonderful range including scenes of Angkor Wat and again more elephants. Like Kinh the items are not cheap but you know profits are going to a good cause and are not junk souvenirs

Visiting Cambolac's workshop in Siem Reap was quite emotional for me, having in mind that you are being welcomed from the door and guided through the manual souvenirs production process by a deaf and hearing-impaired employee. Moreover, company's mission is to hire as many such people and all employees I saw working were facing same physical inconvenience. With completely missing government social system, I find efforts of social enterprises crucial for life of ppl in need and I think it is a great opportunity for tourists to support such cause while anyway shopping souvenirs. Plus is they have shops at different locations.

This goes to whoever is running Cambolat, you should provide tables and chairs for all the workers, they are working on the floor¡ Are they sitting like these 8 hours a day? In the long term they are going to have back problems! You have really talent people in there, please do something, I spent 30 USD today at the shop, I hope at least you could buy a few plastic chairs. Apart from that, its always good to see how things are made. these are beautiful and excellent quality products. 100% recommended. we got 2 free waters too

Opportunity to see how lacquer work is made. One of the artisans will show you round for free. All of the artisans are deaf, but this is no barrier. A combination of great miming, sign boards and seeing the artisans at work, gets all of the information across.
The most enthusiastic workshop team we have met in Cambodia.
Small shop at the end of the tour displaying he high quality products, but not pressure to buy.
Thoroughly recommend a visit.

I enjoyed seeing all of the different types of art work. We bought several things also as gifts and friends have loved them. Only draw back was that I tried to contact them to see if they would send me something (once we had left the country.) There was not a reply by email as to whether or not they could do that. That was a bit disappointing.

L'abbiamo dovuto cercare perchè non è facile da trovare, ma ne è valsa la pena. Il posto è interessante, gli articoli sono belli ed innovativi, mettono un po' di creatività nel panorama dell'artigianato cambogiano che è molto tradizionale. Il fatto che dia del lavoro a ragazzi sordi della zona di Angkor è ancora piu' bello. Se girate per Siem Reap ci sono anche due negozi nei mercati.
