BIG day but lots to see along the way. Much nicer than a big bus or a flight if you have the time to indulge. Mr Chy was our safe driver and very informative English speaking guide. Didn’t tire of answering all of our questions! Interesting stop at the local market at Skoun to look at roasted spiders, silkworms and crickets. Not my favourite tastes though! Delightful lunch spot at a rest stop along the way overlooking Tonle Sap. Amazing to see the long ancient bridge of Kampong Dkei. What a feat of engineering that has stood such a test of time. Boat trip to see the stilt houses and floating village at Kampong Kleang was an eye opener. River very low but emphasised the design and height of the stilt houses. Amazing life the people lead along the river. Mind boggling quantities of snails dredged from the bottom of the river and transported in long low boats for export to Thailand as well as other places in Cambodia.
