Soborint was an awesome guide. He took us on the big tour to the far out temples and we had a great time with him. His knowledge of the different temples, the stories behind them and also the intricate carvings was great. Soborint’s english is also good, so there wasn’t much lost in translation during the day. He was very happy and pleasant throughout the day and would always be smiling.
It was also incredibly interesting to hear his memories of the Khmer Rouge and how he and his family had been directly affected by them.

With VIR Angkor Tours, you will see all the great sights of Siem Reap. It's a great way to see the city and the temples. What sets this tour apart is that you will also make a lifelong friend in Mr Soborint, the tour guide. Mr Soborint is an amazing person. He works to help people and he has started this tour business to help fund the non-profit organisation VIR (Vulnerability and Illiteracy Reduction). VIR is a great organisation that helps farmers in the Siem Reap area.
Mr Soborint always has a smile on his face and is always ready to help. You will have a great time. Do it.

Great way to expose yourself to the variety of temples at Angkor National Park. Overwhelming number of choices to make but with VIR Angkor Tours, your guide can help narrow down trip. Excellent guide, Mr. Soborint, who speaks an impressive number of languages. I personally was a volunteer at VIR and can vouch for the fact that the money spent on the Angkor Tour goes to helping the pooriest communities around Siem Reap. The price is comparable with other Angkor Tours but with the added knowledge of Mr. Soborint and the eco-tour aspects that VIR provides. Excellent experience.

If you are visiting Siem Reap, I highly recommend that you tour the city using VIR Angkor Tours. The city itself is beautiful - with a rich history, warm people and beautiful landscapes. As a volunteer at VIR, Mr Chhan Soborint has made my stay in Cambodia incredibly memorable and worthwhile. He is a reliable, dedicated and kind hearted professional that has a true love for his community. It was inspiring to learn more about Siem Reap through his perspective. If you want an authentic experience in one of the most beautiful places in the world, a tour with VIR Angkor Tours would be one way to enhance your time travelling through Siem Reap.

Mr. Chhan Soborint is one of the best tour guides I have ever met. Here are a few reasons why:
Languages – he speaks so many. I've been studying Dutch recreationally for quite some time, and his totally blew me away. I'm a native English speaker and I was completely comfortable speaking either language with VIR Angkor Tours. Although I did not converse in the other languages Mr. Soborint spoke (which included Korean and Mandarin I think, and either German or French I forget) I can say that if he is half as good at those as he is at Dutch and English, then anybody who would prefer to be toured in those languages is in for a great experience.
All the basics – Mr. Saborint has all of his bases covered. His tours are customizable. He can take you to the temples, the floating villages, and anywhere else you might like to travel to in a single day. His knowledge of each site is unparalleled, and he delivers it in a pleasingly jovial fashion. He is a safe driver, and works hard to make people comfortable during their time with him.
The cause – proceeds from your tour will support an amazing NGO in Siem Reap. The NGO helps extremely impoverished rural Khmer people get on their feet. They provide medical assistance to people who cannot afford it, and they provide quality education about human rights.
All in all, VIR Angkor Tours is a must-call if you plan on sight seeing anywhere within or around Siem Reap. 5 stars is a no-brainer.

I arrived in Siem Reap late at night, without a plan and decided to scour the internet for some direction. All I knew was that I wanted to get an insight into some of the local NGO's (and hopefully support them in some way) and, of course, check out the famous Angkor temples. I came across VIR Angkor Tours on trip advisor, left a message late at night and 'hey presto' Chhan Soborint arrived on my doorstep bright and early the next day. We chatted and decided on a rough plan. He was an expert guide with a friendly and casual approach. My tour was tailor made. I visited Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples, Tonle Sap lake and one of the villages supported by VIR. I got to attend a VIR village meeting. Chhan Soborint also showed me around the village, pointing out the ways in which VIR was helping the community with income generation, effective shelter, clean water and education. Overall, I highly recommend VIR tours. Not only do you get a knowledgeable, friendly and flexible tour guide, but you're supporting the local community and a legitimate NGO.

Thanks Mr Chhan for the fantastic experience visiting the floating village and country side. It was an eye opener to see how people lived practically on water.
The food and drinks were good and Mr Chhan took us on a boat where we felt safe travelling around.
On the way to the village, we saw the country side (so green) where they grow rice and also saw some of the cricket hotels :-)
Will definitely recommend Mr Chhan and VIR Angkor tours to anyone who visits Siem Reap. Mr Chhan speaks great english and is a funny and well informed bloke.
