I make it a point to always stop in a check out a church should I be passing by and my walk around Bucaramanga and stepping in side this church today was no exception.

Church of three ships - cultural interest of departmental area

According to the archdiocese of the city, the church of San Laureano is originally from 1778, after the extinction of the indigenous reservation of Bucaramanga, when it is formed as a parish. The building that we see today is not the same, because three buildings have been erected on the same place. The first benefactor was the mayor Juan Buenaventura Ortiz, appointed in 1790. The third building (1865) was the initiative of the progressive priest Francisco Romero, then director of the Secretariat of Public Works, with resources obtained from alms, collections and raffles. Finally, in July 1872, the new building was reopened, as we know it.
They deserve to emphasize his watch made by the Set Tomas Clock & Cía factory stands out. of Connecticut, and the metal bell covered with lots of copper donated by the entire community.
Next to the García Rovira park, the Government of Santander and the great plaza Luis Carlos Galán (politician immolated by drug trafficking). It has religious art of more than 240 years...

Se aprecia muy bien en las mañanas

Es un sector que debe ser visitado en horas de la mañana o tarde, preferiblemente antes de las 4pm porque no es muy seguro. En la noche se ve muy bonita, pero es mejor ir en carro. No siempre se encuentra abierta al público, pero si estás de suerte puedes verla en su interior.

Hermoso Templo estilo Colonial, bien conservado. Atacado por las aves en su exterior, sin embargo no merman su lindo aspecto. Ubicado en la Carrera 11, punto Central de la Ciudad. Varios Horarios para las Eucaristías. Diagonal a la Gobernación. Buena vigilancia.

IGLESIA ANTIGUA, BONITA, SENCILLA EN EL PARQUE DE LA GOBERNACIÓN DE BUCARAMANGA

Se trata de una iglesia con su toque de antigüedad, mediana en tamaño pero sencilla; para nada deslumbrante pero digna de visitar, ubicada en el parque de la gobernación de Bucaramanga. Sus colores blanco, dorado y amarillo ocre la hacen ver bonita. Es similar a la catedral de la sagrada familia en el parque Santander. Su cielo raso y sus chambranas interiores en madera la hacen un poco diferente a otras.

La iglesia es una edificación sencilla, pero lo que más me llamó la atención es que la congregación permite a las familias o grupos de amigos, encargarse de la decoración de cada una de las reliquias que se encuentran en su interior. Me pareció una actividad muy buena para compartir con tus seres queridos y que deja fluir la imaginación de las personas.
