My 10 yo and I hike to MH. The trail is pretty nondescript at times after Morgan's cove (the bottom of the colorful steps from Ft Warwick) but if you feel like you're on a slightly eroded, overgrown path, that's it. Small black ants leave a pretty stinging short-term bite. We came to snorkel the area around the head and the cave, but it was tricky getting into the water where we ended up... unless you jumped in 3-6meters off his shoulders or higher into a nice, deep turquoise pocket. This was tons of fun, but we turned back after a brief indulgent and snorkeled a halfway point (we'd seen a scuba boat anchored on our way out) and found a great reef with clear waters. Saw an array of tropical fish, barracuda, squid and starfish (why do people feel include to pick these up?) and beautiful colors. We also snorkeled later at Morgan's cove, which wasn't as good, but still had fish, though it was more seagrass than coral.

We went to Morgan’s Head on the boat trip we booked with Richard (COP 600,000 for 4 people).
The boat trip includes snorkeling equipment in the region and then continues to Cayo Crangejo.
The experience was wonderful, the corals are beautiful and the sea is very calm.
I recommend that everyone who goes to Providência take this tour. It was the best experience we had on our trip to Colombia!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROVIDENCE:
For anyone wanting to travel to the Island, it is important to know some details to avoid unnecessary hassles.
Take repellent, there are a lot of “porvinha” mosquitoes in the region.
Providencia Island is a remote place, so there are no taxis, and the drivers available are few and charge a higher price to take you from one point to another.
When you arrive at the airport, drivers will be available (they charge COP 10,000 each to the hotel).
I advise that if your hotel is not close to the “center” or a restaurant, rent a motorbike or mulita, so you can get around (I didn't do this and had difficulty going to dinner, as there was no one to take us to the hotel). local).
Arrive early at restaurants, especially pizzerias. After 8:30 pm the food may be gone and places close early.
And be aware that the dishes take at least 1:30 hours to be ready (a group of divers waited 3:30 hours for lunch at a restaurant on Manzanilla beach) - January experience - high season.
Arrive 2 to 3 hours before boarding time at the airport, otherwise they won't let you check in (we missed the flight for this reason).
I do not advise you to book your flight back to your country on the same day as your return from Providencia (the company Satena only has an old aircraft that makes the route San Andres - Providencia and if it has a problem, they will cancel the flight and you will lose your connections - this happened to an acquaintance of ours now in January/2024 - he would arrive in Brazil on 09/01, but only managed to arrive on 11/01).

Si bien ya había visto la piedra desde el mar, cruzamos a la Isla Santa Catalina, y mientras mi esposa se quedó el la playa del fuerte, yo salí a caminar por un sendero apenas visible hasta esta piedra famosa, es una interesante opción de treking y de vistas del mar espectaculares.

Acabamos de ir a la isla. Fuimos de los primeros turistas que recibió la isla después del huracán recibido hace 2 años.
Honestamente, a la isla aún le faltan muchos meses para su reconstrucción. Miles de escombros en la calle sin levantar, sucios, a medio construir. Por lo que nos comentan los isleños, no ha sido por falta de recursos. La isla en este minuto está lleno de gente del gobierno trabajando, mucho maestro dando vuelta lo que comentan que han perdido el control de lo qué pasa en la isla y se a vuelto algo más inseguro.
Lamentablemente, la información que se entrega en internet no está actualizada, en todos los sitos e incluso en los nuevos te muestran fotos antiguas de los lugares más importantes a conocer y muchas de esas playas ya no existen prácticamente o están en mal estado
En todos lados salía que. Isla catalina es muy bueno para snorkel sin embargo el paseo peatonal para llegar a la playa está en mal estado, la escalera está cortada y no se puede bajar ya que atenta a la seguridad del turista la única manera de llegar en en kayac, lo hicimos. Lo arrendamos y estuvimos1 hora por 15.000 colombianos sin embargo la isla es muy fangoso por lo que se se puede apreciar nada a metros desde la orilla, aún que la vista de la isla desde el Kayak es muy bonita igual estuvo bueno el paseo.
Si hubiera sabido me hubiera espera al menos un año más para ir a visitar la isla ya que era increíble y aún no esa levantada lo que hace que sea decepcionante.

Vale a visita nessa pequena Ilha de Santa Catalina. O ligar é lindo , da pra se divertir . Da pra saltar da pedra e voltar com tranquilidade. Pague um nativo que ele te mostra o caminho. É barato e vale a experiência!

One of the most beautiful places I've seen in my life. The color of the water there is incredible. You take a 30 minute walk to get there, but the path is safe.

Hicimos este paseo ingresando a Santa Catalina a través del puente de los enamorados, conocimos la gente tan amable que vive allí e hicimos todo el recorrido, al principio es un camino agradable alrededor de la isla y después hay que hacer un poco de senderismo que termina justo en la cabeza de morgan, se pueden sacar buenas fotografías en el recorrido y se puede ir en sandalias aunque no es mala idea unos tenis ya que hay algunas zonas medianamente complicadas para caminar.

hola , te consulto si se puede ir en lancha??, por que voy con una beba y no creo que pueda caminar tanto con ella

Hola! Si, en lancha te llevan y te muestran la piedra.. con una beba no te recomiendo caminar porque hay una zona con muchas escaleras y hay algunas subidas y bajadas que puede ser peligroso... yo hice el recorrido caminando, vas por un sendero lleno de vegetación y te vas encontrando con los animalitos que viven por ahí... durante el recorrido también podes bajar a algunas “playitas vírgenes” donde podes salir a hacer snorkel hasta la cabeza o seguir caminando... la verdad es que a MI no me pareció la gran cosa...
