Idk what it is but this place is really not what it used to be. It has this weird feeling like everything is shut down or closed. I still remember going with my family, and now I don't even feel like visiting anymore.

We visited AC back in the mid 1990's when it had just had a major renovation. We were shocked how run down the Boardwalk is now. There was homeless people everywhere begging and presuring us for money. A friend had a stack of ones for the strippers and we gave them all away just to get the derelicks to leave us alone.

I recently went to Atlantic City for a few days. I posted a review of the boardwalk some years ago. I have to admit that it hasn't really changed much. I did have a wonderful time at Resorts and the various hotels I visited plus the Tanger Outlets have always been a favorite of mine. I knew going to A.C. that it was after the "season" had ended and that it would affect the place in various ways but I'm still bothered that the boardwalk is "creepy" at night. I went to the Tropicana for dinner at PF Changs and figured I'd stay and gamble a bit and then make the trek back to Resorts which is a pretty long walk. The boardwalk was desolate on the way and I decided to come back to the hotel right after a great dinner. Even at 8pm, there was no one in sight! Not a security guard, no policeman, no people in a golf cart patrolling. Kinda scary. I walked so darn fast!! I just don't understand why there isn't any security in the early evening....even off season. So, my advice to you after the season is that you chose a nice hotel with great amenities and great restaurants so that you can "stay close to home" at night. I did have a wonderful time there though.

Well you took my last review off we went to Atlantic City and the place was very very run down there was a lot of bums walking around on the boardwalk lot of people riding bicycles about 90 miles an hour not caring about anybody else very dirty lot of vacant buildings... if you go out at night you better carry a knife because there's a lot of crime.. there I'm not trying to scare nobody but if you were there you would understand what I'm talking about another thing is on the back streets there's a lot of vacant buildings a lot of prostitutes a lot of drug people running around a lot of people walk up to your car and try to bum money off you.. so the people person the governor that is running this place is stealing all the money or something because it is very badly run!!we went to the Tropicana and the drinks cost us $23 for two of them and they were little tiny glasses and they were horrible I know you get free drinks if you gamble but guess what you don't win much ...so just let you know what's going on when you go there and you probably won't have a good time it's not worth it there's a lot of other places to go there like the Hard Rock Cafe is a very nice place and you can go to the Borgata that's a very nice place the rest of it is a couple good breakfast places there but that's about it have a good day people...

My friend and I visited AC in October. We decided to do the boardwalk since we didn’t want to spend all our time in the casino. There was an enormous homeless population on the boardwalk and unfortunately everywhere we went it smelled like weed. Everything seemed so run down. This could be a great beach front attraction. At least I did see one police patrolling. I would not want to take my kids here with it smelling so awful. Also the boardwalk is filled with rundown stores. Needs more family entertainment in this city.

The AC boardwalk has devolved into a gross amalgamation of disheveled storefronts offering cigarettes, massages, lotto tickets, tattoos, and populated with lots of homeless people. So sadly, the boards now mirror the streets of AC. It’s the most gross misuse of waterfront property I’ve ever seen. This town could be as wonderful and fun as any of the other Jersey shore towns, but instead, it’s just a run down disgrace.
I’ve been coming down the shore since I was five years old and I’ve seen a lot of change. In ALL the other towns it’s been for cleaner, newer, higher end property. The various NJ governors and mayors who have let AC turn into such a craphole should be ashamed.

Fun times in AC. The Lucky snake arcade is great now and the boardwalk is always fun. The AC bar and grill is a great place to eat. Ride the bikes during the morning the whole length of the boardwalk. It’s always a good time in AC.

Atlantic City is the perfect Mix of Prosperity + Poverty . I mean that obviously as a critical opinion. If you can get past the disparity of what you see in A.C. then go ahead and enjoy yourself. The Casino's are self contained fortresses, they have been that way ever since the start of legal gambling. Don't venture onto the boardwalk because it's utterly the sleaziest one in America ! What a shame what was once a ' Grand City ' has become such a run down filthy dirty place, both in the physical realm + spiritual !

We overall had a great trip. The boardwalk itself is well policed and we all felt safe. I normally travel solo, but this time has 3 friends with me who have never been, they had a great time. I just wish something could be done about the pan handling on the boardwalk

Hi wondering if anyone can tell me how crowded the beaches are and if people are trying to social distance. Will be staying at the Showboat-last year when we were there it was a narrow strip of beach and I'm wondering if it will be too crowded. Thank you

Hello. We were there at end of June 2020. Not crowded at all. Alot of people wearing masks. And we saw no issues with Social distancing. The beach area has different sections with more or less people. Saw alot of families with young children. Just find a beach area you would be comfortable with. You might want to go on beach early before the crowds and heat. Stay safe and healthy.

There are a few restaurants that have outdoor and takeaway dining. The casinos are not yet open but there is talk soon other things will be open - the Boardwalk is open and the beach
