This island was different than the others in that it was barren of wildlife, and instead, populated heavily with cactus-like vexation. I guess the draw here is the lagoon, where, if you are lucky, you can spot pink flamingos. We saw six - not too exciting. For me, walking the trail and seeing the vegetation contrasted against the red volcanic rock was the highlight.

Beautiful island with flamingos in brackish ponds, incredible red sand beaches and gorgeous views of Darwin Lake. Remnants of old volcanoes are evident in this centrally located (amongst all the islands).

We visited here via our expedition cruise. The scenery approaching was stunning. We went on a hike with a guide and were able to see the cactus, fauna, finches, mockingbirds. It is not a challenging walk but recommend good foot wear. The highlight of our visit was seeing flamingo’s which our guide advised is very rare to see. The walk takes about an hour and you can swim and snorkel from the beach afterwards.

The red beach is an interesting feature to this island and I was looking forward to the snorkeling but didn't see as much. There were a couple of sea lions that seemed to want to "play" though, which was nice but they got bored of us very quickly. Other islands have more "wild life" also.

Rabida doesn't have any animals other than birds, lizards, and insects, so it is unusual among the Galapagos Islands. What you see here are the flora. The cactus here do not grow spines because there are no predators they need protection from. We walked to the summit of a hill overlooking the ocean and could see the Santa Cruz II at anchor.

We went to this island as part of our 8 day cruise on Daphne. I didn't hear about the island before the trip but we really enjoyed being there. The red sand is beautiful and the hike has a great view.

This island has a distinctive and very picturesque red sand beach. We did a short loop hike that provided very nice seascape vistas although not a lot of wildlife. Snorkeling along the cliff, we saw a variety and multitude of fish and encountered good visibility conditions. We also saw a white tip shark and we swam with a few sea lions. It was a very nice couple of hours.

Lots of beaches are advertised as red sand beaches but few are this red. We were brought to Rabida Island by the nature guides from" the Letty" a yacht operated by Ecoventura. On our ride to Rabida we encountered huge Manta Rays leaping out of the water close by. On the beach were many sea lions just lying about. There were green shrubs lining the back of the beach which contrasted nicely with the vivid red of the beach. Aside from the sea lions there were also pelicans but not much other wildlife on land. We did some snorkelling and saw sharks and rays as well as a very tiny sea horse that was pointed out by our great guides. We also went on a bit of a walk up a hill to a view point where we got a view of the beach and the lagoon behind it and lava flows/fields on a much bigger island across the water. We also got views of cacti and dormant trees spread across Rabida Island. We went for a panga ride along the shore for a view of the red cliffs with cacti on top and sides. We enjoyed this outing even if there were not the numbers and variety of wildlife as other islands and like the other islands we visited the water was too murky for good underwater photos.

Lugar muito diferente das outras praias das ilhas. Areias vermelhas e é possível fazer snorkel no entorno da ilha, alem da caminhada de uns 20 min dentro da ilha.
