Interesting place where you can walk over a lava flow. Fascinating patterns, this was a stop on our cruise and we were lucky to have some cloud cover, its reasonable easy walking and we saw a couple of lava lizards.

Come tutto il resto delle Galapagos: fuori dal mondo, bellissimo, sperso, inenarrabile. Il regno della solitudine con animali di altre ere e panorami mozzafiato. La gita che abbiamo fatto comprendeva una prima parte di camminata sulla lava che ho molto patito: il posto è chiaramente stupendo, sembra di essere a Pompei: tutta lava che sembra scesa e solidificata ieri, dopo aver molto sofferto. Come ho sofferto io per il caldo ela fatica. Alle 2 del pomeriggio. Per fortuna avevo la carota dello snorkeling subito dopo che mi dava un po' di forza.... bellissimo anche quello, anche se i fondali delle Galapagos non sono in realtà molto ricchi. Avevamo un ottima guida, Jorge, che ci ha raccontato piega per piega e colata per colata. Ho viaggiato con Avventure nel Mondo con crociera a bordo della romantica nave Golondrina, un tempo usata per fini scientifici. Viaggio indimenticabile.

So, you can get here by cruise or by a day tour. I got here because my visit was included in my Galapagos cruise. It was A M A Z I N G nothing like you've ever seen before.
This is a lava flow and you go for a short excursion and walk on it. Take comfortable shoes and be careful while you walk.

I’ve never seen anything like this in my travels around the world. As far as the eye can see there is grey, shiny lava in swirls and some places looks like rope. There is a walk from the beach to the far side of the flow. It’s challenging at times underfoot but well worth seeing such a strange phenomenon. Swim & snorkel of the beach after.

Interesting place to walk on and see all the different designs that the lava flow created. Be very careful when walking because the lava is very sharp and rough. I wear GOOD walking shoes not sandals of any kind. We tried taking our shoes off at one point and walking on the lava. I don't recommend doing this for very long but it was an interesting feeling on the bottom of your feet.

Die Bucht ist für einen Landgang und zum Schnorcheln allerbesten geeignet! Die erstarrte Lava ist faszinierend. Und das Schnorcheln mitbSchildkröten, Pinguinen und Seehunden war sensationell!

This place with all this lava beds was just stunning. We felt as though we were on another planet! It’s a great way to appreciate how islands are formed.

After initially feeling a little underwhelmed by lack of bird and wildlife, I really enjoyed our walk across the lava field, revealing interesting formations and fissures. The bay also has incredible water colour and worth a visit.

We booked our Galápagos Islands tour on the TipTop 11 catamaran and it was the most fantastic time we could have asked for. The crew were fantastic as were the other guests we shared this time with. We had 8 wonderful days with Charles our guide who introduced us to the many wonders of more than Sullivan Bay. I would recommend TipTop 11 for anyone wanting to visit the Islands.

My wife and I landed at Sullivan a Bay by Zodiac boat from our cruise ship. It is a tricky, but dry landing.
There is a marked (white stakes) circular walk from the landing, virtually exclusively across 1890s lava (there have been no eruptions here since then). The lava is walkable, but uneven and very sharp in places. You need good footwear!
You'll see pioneer plants, including lava cactus, if you keep your eyes open. And a lizard or two. How they live here us beyond me - it is very arid and hot. Definitely worth a visit - highly recommended, especially with a guide.
