Rishikonda beach isn't located close to the heart of the city instead situated at around 8 km from the Vizag city. It is a popular beach of Vizag that attracts loads of tourists and locals. We visited the beach on a weekend evening in Aug’22, when the beach was over-crowded. The parking lot was full and hence we had to resort to road-side parking. The sea here is relatively calm with tidy waves, offering people to bath, enjoy water sport activities etc. The beach also offers nice scenic beauty. However, the beach area seems to be overly commercialsed. The entry road from main road to the beach has full of shops, vehicles were parked haphazardly, making it difficult for the people to walk. The beach was full of hawkers too. Despite nice scenic beauty, over-crowing may deter a peaceful family time in beach.

While at Visakhapatnam my wife and I visited this very beautiful and popular sea beach which attracts thousands of visitors every day. Having sweet corn and ice cream there add to the pleasure.

Clean beach for families. A bit far from city centre but worth it. start early in the evening, as it takes time to get there.

Compared to what I read,this beach didnt live up to my expectation.It was to crowded and not very neat. Though the views of this crescent beach was spectacular from Kaisalgiri. But this is no doubt a very nice hangout place with many food stalls and shops.

Best beach with lot of activities.The maggi served in the stalls were awesome.

It's on a beautiful location,but poorly maintained and comparatively very much dirty. If Authorities put some concern this would've been a great beach definitely. Also near beaches having the smiler story.

Undoubtedly one of Vizag's best beach to visit. Beautiful not just in the view but the beach itself is wonderful to spend your time.

We had wonderful time through out stay at this beach. It was the most clean and peaceful beach I have visited in Vizag.
One thing to consider, place has facility for bath and toilets, but they don't open before 10 AM, I think they should consider revisit the timings.

We visited the beach on a National Holiday, Dussehera . The beach was crowded to the ever inch of it and the parking was full of Vehicles. I had park on a desserted lane next to Parking area were the google maps guided us instead of actual parking. The Beach was clean and well maintained with some lifeguards actively managing it.

Is the rishikonda beach remains shallow upto a good distance like palolem, kovalam and bharatpur or becomes deep at a short distance like candolim .

Planning to stay at aptdc hariya in rushikonda. But next morning 6am around we have to go to vidhakapattanam rail station to catch train. How well communicated is it from the main city...Can I have avail any convenience from this place at dawn at 5 am?

R k beach is a costly hotel zone. I stayed in hotel supreme. We have hotel ambica shagreen. Just check for offers on travel sites. You can get for 3k per day.

we plan to visit vizag during late sep in this year... we travel along as a couple... so can any one suggest that where should better stay, at RK beach or Rishikonda beach? and what is the hotel option? we plan stay here for 2 days... so we also want cover the side seen also...

Hai.. You can opt to stay at Rushikonda Beach. There are Resorts of AP Tourism. It a nice place to stay and enjoy the beach view. RK Beach is crowded and busy with the regular traffic, where as Rushikonda is calm and enjoyable.
have a nice journey and a good stay there.
Hi, I would like to know is there any rooms for dress changing., we are 12 people and 5kids, we want to spend time there in rishikonda beach morning to evening, so can we get any food, and room for kids just to laid down for some time near to the beach,
please guide me............

Rushikonda Beach has had a lot of erosion over the last year and has declined in quality. For a room you would have to book a room at either the Haritha AP Tourism resort up on the hill overlooking the beach or at Sai Priya resorts just down the beach.
But as an alternative option I recommend you consider Thotlakonda Beach. It is only a few kilometers past Rushikonda on the Beach Road and is a much cleaner beach and has good facilities. It is newly developed and has quality restrooms/shower rooms, nice shaded seating overlooking the beach, a food court with decent options, and a much more decent beach. There are not many tourists going there yet since it is very new, but you will have a lot of peace and quiet around there. You could spend a few hours there comfortably.
