This Place have a Great Significance and Main Beauty of it is Lord Shiva’s Big Idol and Temples of Mahadev and Rama.
It was earlier only a Temple because Shiv and Parvati stayed here because of Beauty of the Place - Riverside , Mountains and Greenery all around.
During their stay, Goddess Parvati lost her mani (precious stones in the waters of a stream. Upset over the loss, she asked Shiva to retrieve it. Lord Shiva commanded his attendant to find the mani for Parvati. However, when they failed, he was extremely angry. He opened his third eye, a tremendously inauspicious event which led to disturbances in the universe. An appeal was made before the Sheshnag, to pacify Lord Shiva. Sheshnag hissed, thereby giving rise to a flow of boiling water. The water spread over the entire area, resulting in the emergence of precious stones of the type Goddess Parvati had lost, and Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were happy there after.
So many other interesting facts too.
Then It holds good significance for Sikh’s as well People says Guru Nanak Dev also came here and He and one of his Devotees had meal here with the Help of Lord Shiv.

Manikaran Gurudwara is a place of spirituality, solace, and warmth amidst the mighty Himalayas.
Visiting Manikaran Gurudwara with my family in June 2023 was an exciting experience.
Parking proved challenging due to the heavy rush. There was a long traffic jam on the way.
You can book a room to stay inside and there are no charges.
The constant langar service was heartwarming, and the Gurudwara's pristine surroundings were very well maintained.
The nearby river, although scenic, appeared quite daunting and it was very noisy. The flow of the water in the river was intimidating
it gets very cold during the night, but the hot spring water provided a soothing bath. There are two hot water pools for bathing
It is safe for kids and elderly but not so convenient for elderly as there are a lot of stairs to climb

Manikaran sahib gurdwara is an experience beyond words. There is a Shiva temple just adjacent to the gurdwara. Just to the left of langar hall. A natural hot spring where lagar food is cooked..
River Parvati is scary and flow is very strong. However I feel gurdwara should be cleaned more specially the langar hall and provide lift access for senior citizens. The route to the gurdwara is picturesque on the drive.

It’s the only gurudwara I’ve visited which is so not well kept and not peaceful! Crowded and badly managed. Once doesn’t feel like it’s a holy place

It was my dream to see the very famous Manikaran gurudwara. Though I’m not a Punjabi or Sikh I often visit gurudwaras and believe in their principles. When I went to Manikaran Sahib, my heart just cried.
The place was crowded, stuffy, very poorly maintained and unhygienic. Even the langar plates were not being cleaned properly. They were almost just only being dipped into the water tank and passed along. I found the staff rude and authoritative. When some of us women tried to touch the holy spring water from the tank we were rudely stopped. When I asked him when other women were allowed why were some of us being stopped. No explanation was given instead one gentleman waved a stick indicating he would hit us if if we tried!!!! Some volunteers kept insisting we should go inside the women’s bathroom to do so.
We had already seen the condition of the toilets when we entered the place. They were so disgusting and stinking that I did not have the guts to even venture into the ladies’ bathroom too. So I ended not touching the famous healing hot spring water at all..! A major disappontment.
A far far cry from the beautiful management at Amritsar Sahib- golden temple.
My husband has visited this place as a child and he says the sanctity of the place has changed.
They get ample donation. So much can be done to improve the structure and experience of the devotees. There is a Shiv temple near this place which can be accessed through a ramp from inside the compound of Manikaran Sahib. We visited it, we could see the hot spring water here too. This was very crowded too. The pics attached are from the shiv temple.
Overall a very sad experience.

Ancient gurdwara with pleasant hot spring, hot cave and scenic riverside location. One of my favorite gurdwaras in India.

Manikaran Gurudwara is a significant spiritual and cultural destination located in the Parvati Valley near Kullu and Manali. The Gurudwara is believed to have been visited by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, and is considered a sacred pilgrimage site for both Sikhs and Hindus. The hot springs near the Gurudwara are believed to have healing properties and attract many visitors seeking spiritual and physical rejuvenation. The Gurudwara also offers langar, a community kitchen that serves free food to all visitors, irrespective of their caste or religion. The peaceful surroundings and serene atmosphere make Manikaran Gurudwara a must-visit destination for spiritual seekers and culture enthusiasts.

I am not a Sikh and came to visit the gurudwara like many other tourists. I love the peace and calm one finds at a gurudwara. However, the place has become so popular, it has lost its sanctity. The place is over crowded, everyone walking in different directions, because of the crowd there is a lot of mud on the floor. The washrooms are disgusting. One of the major attractions is the hot water in which the rice for the langar is cooked.
