政府博物馆收藏了一些精美的古代文物，偶像，武器等。红色建筑本身非常漂亮。我喜欢古色古香的弧形楼梯到达一楼。除了美术馆。一楼有Venkatappa先生的画。一楼有展览空间，在那里也可以欣赏绘画。我在这里喜欢的是一些开放的空间，可以坐在那里并在自己看到的风景，自然和博物馆建筑上创作绘画。

Beautiful items horribly presented and ( not) cared for. Somebody show it some love.

It’s shameful how badly these beautiful artifacts are presented, kept and protected. Awful lighting, dirty cases, badly maintained. I was really upset to see India’s heritage treated this way, toilets were revolting. No cafe or shop. The whole place hadn’t been cleaned for ages. I have no idea why this is not given more attention, it’s disrespectful. The tech museum next door has all the features of a good centre/museum so Bangalore knows how to do it properly.

Archelogical museum

2020年2月

Government museum is have some nice collection of ancient artifacts, idols, weapons etc. Red color building itself is very beautiful. I liked antique curved stairs to reach first floor. Just besides art gallery is available. Ground floor is having paintings by Mr. Venkatappa. First floor is having space for exhibition and could enjoy paintings there too. What I liked here was some open space available to sit and create paintings on your own seeing landscape, nature and museum building.

遺跡の出土品が大量に展示されています。見応え十分です。が、説明がありません(名前と何世紀か)だけ。興味がある人はガイドを付けた方がいいと思います。いったん外に出て、隣の建物に絵画が展示されています。こちらもお見逃しなく。

Good for History Buffs

The Karnataka Government Museum built in 1877 in the neoclassical architectural style is located centrally on Kasturba road near Cubbon Park. The museum is flanked by the Venkatappa Art gallery and the Visvesvaraya Industrial And Technological Museum. It has a rare collection of archaeological and geological artefacts including old jewellery, sculpture, coins and inscriptions which are on display on the ground and first floors. There are three galleries in the museum; antiquity, painting and sculpture.The museum is also home to the Halmidi inscription, the earliest Kannada inscription (450 AD).
The museum and the Venkatappa Art gallery are located in the same complex and have a common entry ticket of Rs 20/-. It is well connected by public transport and has washrooms. It is worth a visit for history buffs.

Nothing there. Don't pain yourself for it. Only positive point is it is situated very close to wonderful Visveswaraya museum.

Great collection of ancient sculpture

This place is a quite attractive colonial red colour building, housing some rare sculptures, tools, pottery, musical instruments and few pictures and paintings. Some of them as old as many hundred years BC.

There were audio book symbols but I could not find a place to get one. This place will make lot more sense with details.

A day well spent in company of heritage, art and serenity

This is a place full of knowledge and is a pure treasure for those who seek an insight to the human species’ evolution.
It has a collection of all the remaining found as a proof on the evolution of Karnataka history as well as the century wise enhancement of mankind.
The ground floor has all the descriptions of Karnataka history when the Mughals ruled.
The first floor is full of mysore style paintings. There is another hall in the building where all the sculptures like the Buddha and Vishnu are kept.

Then there is a building dedicated to the excellent work of art produced by Venkatappa. This is a display of all this accolades and art works.

One awesome trip to the journey of history of Karnataka and to somewhat human evolution.

Nice sculpture garden while wondering around Cubbon Park

I stumbled upon this place while walking around Cubbon Park. When I arrived the museum was already closed, but the sculpture garden was available to explore. There are nice sculptures in the garden and makes the visit interesting. I did not go inside the museum so not able to comment on the inside. The red brick building is nice in contrast.
