It’s all dug up and a slum has come up inside. Very disappointed. Weeds growing everywhere and very badly maintained.

A man made charm

Sankey tank which was constructed in 1882 to meet the fresh water supply demand, now houses shoals of fish, many ducks, swans and welcomes migratory birds. This man made tank looks like a natural lake. This place is easy to locate via google maps and is open from 6 AM to 8 AM and 4 PM to 6 PM. One can easily travel to Sankey tank via public transport. There is no entry ticket / entry fee. It is well maintained, hygienic, clean and is surrounded by old tall green trees with its branches widespread across the area. There are some small colorful shrubs, potted plants and lawn which adds to the beauty. It has a children's play area, a trail to run, jog or simply take a refreshing stroll, there are benches and gazebos to sit back, relax and enjoy the view . This is a good spot for photography lovers. Ducks swimming around in the lake flapping around or feeding upon some grains and the sight of various birds (local and migratory) is just soothing and charming. The quick flutter of morning birds, ducks quickly feeding off the ground at dawn and the attractive lights at dusk with its reflection on the lake gives the same place two different but equally beautiful views. This place is good for family, children and friends.

A water body that continues to exist

Bengaluru has been losing its water bodies owing to rapid urban growth. If not for the cemented path around the Sankey Tank, we would mostly have seen some apartment here as well. Sankey Tank is located between Malleshwaram and Sadashivnagar. It is a very pleasant place and provides a soothing experience when you walk around the water body, especially early mornings or evenings. This makes the place obviously crowded.

Quality Time in Evening

Hey it's an cool and chill out place for family's get together and engagements. Ambience with small and no of trees give you a different room of freshness from outside pollution. You will find many eateries near by to satisfy your tummy. Entry fee is RS.10 for adult and RS.5 for children.
Boating is also available at RS.10
So guys make yourself available to reach out this cool place.

Excellent place to refresh mind and body

There are very few attractive water bodies in Bengaluru. Sankey Tank is one which will not disappoint. Entrances on the Malleshwaram and Sadashivanagar side allow easy ingress. The walking distance circumference is comfortable and yet sufficient to get a decent number of steps for exercise, close to a mile (1.4 to 1.6 KM). The area around the tank is well kept. For foodies, park in Malleshwaram (may need a little effort!!) or reach the tank from the 18th Cross Bus stand, walk around the tank, then walk to Sampige road for some South Indian fare, and a short walk back to your vehicle or Bus Stand.

Best water park in Bangalore

One of the most peaceful place I. Bangalore, well maintained park. Early month walks in Sankie tank is so apraxia land peaceful. Even most of the celebrities come for walk in early morning.
