Nice historical site. Have to buy tickets in advance or pay at the gate.

I had a personal tour guide of all these attractions in Bangalore. I don't know cost of entrance to palace but the market and fort are free. The palace is an islamic style palace since tipu sultan was a Muslim. It's open air and built with Burmese teakwood, spend about 45 min here. The KR market is the most intense open air market I have been to India, its packed with people galore, money is flowing through here! Claustrophobic people beware! I loved it though. Photographers paradise. I bought some fruit, flower market is bigger than Kolkata and possibly Delhi. The fort is a quick easy walk-through but the remains are photo worthy.

It is most unfortunate that the palace DO NOT accept 🚫 CASH payment at all. As a foreigner, we we not able to pay online. When we told the security guard ,he called somebody who identified himself as a tour guide. (Honestly speaking, when he was calling, I thought he was calling someone from the palace who is going to accept our cash payment) The tour guide said he will buy the tickets online for us, buy he asked us to pay him 500 Rs for tour guide 😳. (Actually at first he said 'pay me whatever you want at the of the tour'. I personally don't like the 'whatever you want' payment label. So when I insisted on an actual price, he said 500 Rs). We didn't plan for a tour, we just wanted to visit the palace, but off course this wasn't an option.
We have visited many attraction places in Bangalore and we enjoyed a seamless experience, we paid foreigner fee at entrance, visited the place and left satisfied. But not the same with Tipu Sultan Summer palace, this experience was very disappointing. 😞
Lesson for foreigners: Like us, if you don't have the means of paying online, then BEWARE you will be asked for a tour guide payment at the gate, in addition to the entrance fee.

At a first glance I felt pity on Tipu Sultan, how could this be a palace for him, surely, he needs somewhere more lavish.
There were water dripping over from side walls, palace wasn't big enough or nothing exotic for a king.
Somehow made me realize, may be this wasn't maintained well enough by the Government or may be Tipu used it only as an occasional summer palace, so didn't bother making it look anything gorgeous.

Went here on Christmas holiday to beat the Covid-19 lockdown. It was a good visit.
We were driving from Bangalore, it was good drive. Although there were road constructions going on, you can drive your vehicle in good speed.
Even though the place became old now, they maintained it well.

Palace is , indeed, historical. However it is in pretty bad shape. Most of the woodwork and original colors are gone. Upper floor closed to public.

There is nothing much to see inside the fort. Palace is small in area and size, it hardly takes 15 mins to explore.

A noter : Bengalore KR market n'a pas sa place ici - c'est un autre endroit à Bangalore
Ce sera une merveille quand la restauration sera terminée. mais je ne regrette pas du tout la visite car ce qu'il y a déjà à visiter est très bien
Incroyable palais dont la structure est uniquement en teck. Il ne fut terminé que fin 18ème. Il fait partie du circuit de Bengalore
Le roi Tipu venait à Bengalore passer ses étés car le climat était moins chaud
Assez étonnant palais car le roi n'y séjourna jamais. Il y tenait uniquement ses audiences. Cela explique qu'il n'y ait quasi aucune pièce ou aucune porte.
Les colonnes sont magnifiquement restaurées. Mais hélas les décorations murales et des plafonds sont en triste état. On devine que cela devait être splendides et que cela devait être du niveau du Tipu Palace de Srirangapatna
Un petit musée très intéressant sur l'histoire locale et de la colonisation anglaise se trouve au rez de chaussée. Notamment des gravures du 19ème.

It is a palace in the Muslim (Sarazin) type of architecture, so rather simple, with specific architectural elements, and it is quite small. If you are looking for something more majestic, I would suggest Bengaluru Palace, or Mysuru palace of course if you have time

You can get in and will not miss anything in the summer palace.
