We went on a tour of Mysore Palace and other sights in Mysore. It was an excellent tour, our guide was fantastic and his explanations helped us to understand much more of what we saw than we would have done otherwise. We were a large English-speaking group and he took great care of us, always making sure we were all together and checking when we wanted lunch etc. Communication to arrange the trip and meet on the day was easy. Highly recommend!

Tour of Mysore Palace and the Jaganmohan Palace Art Gallery was incredible. Guide was well spoken, and did an incredible job of balancing a fast pace with an informative tour. 100% recommend to anybody passing through the area.

Joined the Ben by Foot to Srirangapatna 22 Sep, 2024 with the knowledgeable Mansoor Ali & a great group of fellow history enthusiasts. It was an exceptional & enjoyable trip.
The tour started at 7am with a delicious breakfast. Our drive in a new tempo traveller was comfortable and smooth.
Tipu's history started unfolding with Mansoor's master class at Srirangapatna's Darya Daulat Bagh. We heard about his father, his birth, battles, valour, his generousity to temples. Most of all we heard about the first few wars of independence to drive the British from Southern India - about how he had to give his sons to the British as surety because he could not pay them what they wanted. Mansoor also told us about how Tipu was defeated because of traitors within his court.
We covered all these events by visiting the places these events happened - the Masjid, Fort, Lal Mahal, Ranganathaswamy temple, where Tipu fell in battle and finally his resting place at the Gumbaz.
History is never so interesting as when you have an expert like Mansoor tell the story & make it interesting.
Would highly recommend taking tours and walks with Mansoor if you want to learn the history & architecture of places and if you want to eat delicious local food. I have gone on many walks, but can say that no one knows more history & makes the stories as interesting as Mansoor.
Have only been to two walks with him, intend doing all.

Went on BenbyFoot’s heritage day tour to Srirangapatna and had such a lovely time. Mansoor had meticulously curated the order of the places to visit to draw us a picture of the sequence of events leading up to Tipu Sultan’s demise. His excitement is infectious and the group was also extremely helpful! Good use of a weekend, will recommend.

Loved the tour...it was immersive, comfortable and the perfect group size of 10. The trip starts early at 7 am the pick up point and is expected to end at 8/8:30 pm (please do put a buffer of 1-2 hours depending on the traffic).
You can expect to get a wholesome understanding of the era of Tipu Sultan, visit ALL the important landmarks of Srirangapatna including the Someshwara temple in a comfortable air conditioned TT. Mansoor, as usual is extremely knowledgeable, open to questions, and treated us to great food of our choice (breakfast, lunch and evening tea/coffee) including a scenic place for lunch overlooking the beautiful Kaveri river. Another highlight was the camaraderie within the group- had lots of fun 😊
In short, I blindly recommend taking this absolute value for money day trip "A day in the life of the Tiger of Mysore"( which was priced @Rs 2699/- in Sep 2024)

I have been to a couple of Heritage Walks conducted by Bengaluru By Foot. The experience was always fulfilling. The tours are well researched and neatly organised.

The tour planner Mansoor was great in showing a blend of historical significance and art work interpretation. The 3 hours time we spent flew like a second showcasing how interesting and interactive the time went.

This was a fantastic tour of old Bangalore. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and generous. We were able to tailor our walk around the old town as we wanted. We had a great time walking around the old town!
