Thank you Prasanthy Houseboats for my three day, two night tour of the backwaters of Kerala. This proved to be one of the highlights of my recent trip to India. The houseboat was staffed by driver Shamji and chef Unni who were most hospitable and friendly. Shamji pointed out places of interest as he navigated through the Kerala backwaters and was willing to answer any questions or queries I had; and Unni prepared meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks in between. The accommodation was comfortable and the ensuite was clean; and there was air conditioning in the bedroom of an evening. This was a leisurely cruise of the Kerala backwaters and showed me another side of India.

After Marriage this was our first tour what a wonderful experience to travel overnight with Safe, clean, secure boat and most enjoyable staff. Very helpful. All booking and travel arrangements were well communicated. beautiful scenic view all around enjoyed our ride throughly.

Prashanti House boat is one of the best choice for the Kerala backwaters were our main reason for visiting Kerala and they did not disappoint us.
We started at Kumarakom and finished the following day near Alleppy. during the boat ride route picked had few other houseboats on the waters. Our houseboat anchored overnight in a quite canal and we had wonderful journey

Very relaxing 24 hours on a private boat. The staff was excellent and understood our dietary requirements. Not much documentary but more or less self explanatory experience. Some people spend several days but in our opinion 1 day is enough.

We wanted a luxury houseboat for the two of us, with air con the whole time and importantly we wanted an upstairs comfortable viewing deck. We settled on Maniyara a boat owned by Sree Kamar of Lake View House Boats - a lovely houseboat which met our criteria. The two staff were great and we were served wonderful food. The upper deck was perfect for viewing and sun bathing.
Memorable trip though we felt one night was suffice.

Well worth a visit. Make sure you go with a decent tour operator. Ours wasn't great although this didn't detract from the charm of the place.

Fabulous place right on the beautiful backwaters. Lovely vibe very relaxed stay. Fantastic boat trip right from the hotel to see the amazing bird life highly recommend. Staff are so friendly they can’t do enough to help you. Delicious breakfast included and we also ate dinner which was great. They don’t have a bar but staff will happily send out for drinks for you. Incredible bird watching right there at the breezy hotel. Rooms were nice and great shower. Talegan was an absolute star !

What a wonderful experience to travel overnight with this marvellous boat! Safe, clean, secure and most enjoyable staff. Very helpful. All booking and travel arrangements were well communicated. We can really recommend this company. Lovely boat, good food, nice staff... Beautiful landscape and very relaxing.

We did a bit of research, Spoke to Mr Shantilal and zeroed in on Prasanthi houseboats. The Royal luxury houseboat for 10 of us ( 5 bedroom) looked the same as in the photos and video shared earlier. It was a memorable stay and will remember for a long time. We felt safe and it was very neat and clean. The food, facilities and service was amazing, Kudos to the staff. Staff helped elderly parents and made them feel at home. Staff accomodated our additional food needs. I would definitely recommend Prasanthy house boat for your joyous houseboat stay.

Visiting Kerala and Alleppey, and spending an entire day in a houseboat was an item on my bucket list for a long time, and I am so so so glad that I chose Prashanty houseboats to fulfill that experience.
I had been researching a lot about houseboats in the build up to this trip regarding what to look for, and what to expect and I am very glad that Prashanty houseboats exceeded expectations in every department. The food, staff on board, the rooms, the view from the upper deck were all more than amazing.
The staff on board - Kannan, Sanal & Chikoo were awesome - big shoutout to them for taking care of every possible need that we had. Sanal was our chef and an incredibly good one - the chicken curry and the fish fry for lunch was some of the best food that we had. We also bought some tiger prawns and crabs for dinner and Sanal transformed that into something delicious as well. Apart from this, we were treated to onion pakoras during tea time, as well as poori bhaji and omelette during breakfast.
The rooms were very comfortable as well - our houseboat came with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a dining area, a guest room in the lower level, which also included the kitchen area. The upper deck consisted of an open area with 4 chairs, and a closed area with a lot of seating. The entire houseboat was air conditioned. The views from the upper deck were breathtaking throughout our time at the houseboat.
Highly recommend Prashanthy houseboats to everyone planning a trip to Alleppey.

you need to go to Alleppey for backwater. one day before you can book boat trip. Kochi to Alleppey by road you need to go.

We started from kochi and returned from Trivandrum, so no need to come back to kochin again. From kochi airport, we directly left for Munnar(2 nights), Thekkady1 night, Alleppy ( Houseboat 1 night) then kovlam 3 nights
From kovlam , one of the day, we did day trip to Kanyakumari
