Excellent - A must visit place

This zoo is well known among the people who visit Trivandrum.

A marginal entrance fee is collected and then you can enter the zoo.
Varieties of birds, animals and especially deers are found in this zoo.

All the animals are let out freely in a natural habitat surrounding.

Crocodile lake, hippo pond, Yak, deer protected area and especially the bird section is really wonderful. Rare bird are kept in their natural surroundings..

Nice place to visit in Trivandrum!

The Thiruvananthapuram Zoo is a nice spot to visit while in Thiruvananthapuram! You can take a small electric car around. The drivers are knowledgeable about the zoo and pointed out all of the animals. They also stopped at points of interest and when requested, let us get out and see the animals. Overall, this is a nice spot to visit!

A glimpse into Nature......

Be here, if you need to see healthy Lions, Tigers, a bunch of birds, reptiles, it's a walkable zoo filled with greenery. The animals are well fed and appear healthy.

Very good experience..

This zoo is one of the most visited places by the tourists in trivandrum.

Neatly maintained. We can enter after getting the entrance ticket.

For photographic cameras separate ticket should be purchased.

Neatly maintained and well protected.

Separate park is inside the zoo for
A) Reptiles
B) Butterflies

Good place to spend time watching different animals and birds..

I feel so sorry for the animals. My daughter didn't understand why the animals and birds were kept in such bad conditions. We have visited many zoos around the world but none were this bad. The animals were living is really bad conditions. The deers were wounded that crows were feeding on the wounds off their backs. I really don't understand why my people with such love and kindness would keep extraordinary animals like this in such hellish like conditions. What was also odd was that there weren't any staff around which to me means that these animals were not being looked after as they need constant attention. I didn't take much photos because it's hard to take pictures of animals being forced to live like that. Torturous!!!

A must-have experience!

The zoo is hugeeee! There is a plethora of animals - both herbovores and carnivores, birds and reptiles! The enclosures seem to be pretty well made. Highlights for me: Bisons, White Tigers (yes, 02 of them!) and so many deers.

Super fun for kids and adults! Must do!

We went in to the zoo not expecting much and were pleasantly surprised to discover the clean , green and spacious Zoo. all the animals looked healthy, had plenty of space to roam around and most importantly- there was no stench. The range of animals, birds and butterflies there is pretty good to take up at least half a day. My kiddo enjoyed it thoroughly declaring it was as good as the Tier park zoo in Berlin. At less than a dollar per person as entrance fee- its absolute value for money!

More signs for the paths to be followed and more widespread toilet facilities would make the experience even more enjoyable. Overall- a great experience that i will strongly recommend for the young and the old alike!

The zoo is located near the Napier museum and is spread across a huge area. It has several birds, animals, reptiles, etc in its collection. The butterfly park was good. Battery cars are not available all the time here.

A good endeavour from the Government of Kerala

Tickets are cheap and affordable to anyone. Kudos government for keeping this inclusiveness. Visitors walkway is also very neat and clean. Flowers goes to the hosuekeeping staffs. But the way animals are kept is pathetic. I had a few similar visit to facilities in europe and asian countries. Comparitively the way animals are treated is poor. Wish to see the similar experience in my country as well. This is point where the authorities can focus on. Otherwise it was good experience and keep the good work.
