((TL;DR very cool puppet museum in the heart of beautiful Jaisalmer with disrespectful museum owner))
It's been 4 years since my visit there in May 2019, and a recent passing news about this influential religious figure really urged me to drop a truth here just so anyone wouldn't have to experienced it.

One artist handled all the puppets and made sounds for them and the other sang and drummed. The puppets seem to be hand painted, the singing and drumming were beautiful, and the puppet design and manipulation were very clever. It was pretty neat!

Amazing & so informative. Had a great tour with the wise owner Mr. Sharma. The old and knowledgeable gentleman had so much time and enthusiasm to explain so many anthropological, social & cultural aspects of Rajasthan that it would be a pity to miss this brief masterclass.
Such a pity we couldn’t see the puppet show as the guide was more keen on directing us to his favourite vendors!!
Definitely recommend this museum. Please go and keep the glorious hetitage alive.🙏

A lovely, unique and authentic experience in Jaisalmer. Mr N.K Sharma is so knowledgeable & passionate about the culture surrounding this beautiful city. We went to the lake for sunset then caught the puppet show at 7.30 followed by a walk through the museum. Stunning puppets, beautiful music & friendly people. Highly recommend as a must do in Jaisalmer.

Great place to understand Rajasthani culture. The owner, a teacher, can give you all the information about the museum in English. In the evening there are two puppet shows, the musicians are great and you can also buy a puppet from them. We really enjoyed the show. Give them support 🙏

One of the most memorable experience of mine in Rajasthan. The singers sang so beautifully expressing the real spirit of the state and watching the Kathputli dance to their tunes was just amazing. Also I bought a very nice Kathputli doll for myself from there. There is a wide variety of Kathputli sold. In this virtual world, watching someone perform live and that too preserving the actual heritage and culture is a bliss. Hence, this is a must visit place!

This place is owned and maintained by a retired school teacher to keep the art alive - you should meet this uncle when you visit there his name is NK Sharma - when you meet him you will find lots of love being showered while talking to him - a museum with all old musical instruments

Very Good puppet show, Nice information in the Museum. Credit to the sincere efforts put in by the Curator Mr Sharma. Needs all the support tourists can provide. Go there after taking a boat ride in Gadisar lake. After the show you can go for the light show. The museum needs to make the info more intresting.

Culture centers are in the evening from 18:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs...programmes are very nice ...worth seeing this....you should not miss it ...
