I had a very pleasant time with this couple who sell the textile works of widows from different villages in Jaisalmer to support them. Go support them and listen to their story, it will be one of the moments that will make Jaisalmer an even more magical place. Ask around for Bellísima, people will guide you.

This co operative is in a small side street in Jaisalmer fort . Lady who runs it is funny and charming and it is a great experience to shop here . The story of how she is helping other women is told in the reviews believe but is obviously a great cause so please support it!

Bellissa is a small store whose owner and her husband look after needy widows in the nearby desert region. According to their own information, they make clothes and textiles there and part of the proceeds from sales go to the women. Meena & Deepak are exceptionally friendly and kind people with whom we spent a few hours. Their life story is touching. Please support the project by shopping there. Since tour guides do not receive any commission there (up to 50% of sales in some cases!) they do not show the store on their tour through the city.
We wish Meena&Deepak all the best for the future and highly recommend this place!

I've been in the shop by chance, walking through the city, and discovered there a big big choice of clothes, tissues of diferent qualities. They take time to explain it to you and they know what they are talking about as doing it for ages.
I also had a real nice social time with both the man and the lady, spending finally hours talking together.
Really nice persons and nice moments ! Thank you for this 🙏

Superb store with very beautiful fabrics. We had a great meeting with the couple running the store. We were able to have a great exchange, they convey very good values.

I went there in order to purchase some typical Indian fabric. The lady was extremely polite and explained us everything about her project and how she and her husband’s family tries for generation to sustain the economy and people from the region selling products made by them at very honest prices.
We bought some scarves and products in bronze and my family and I are very happy with our purchase.
Be aware that other shop try to sell the image and the ideal of the bellissima using the same name but this is the only and original one :)

Authentic shop, in Jaisalmer Fort. We were able to talk with the wife of the owner who was running the shop that day. It has not pushed us to consume but the fabrics, embroidery and other textiles are all magnificent, it is difficult to restrict ourselves.

We met Depak ji on the day celebrating holi festival. For foreign travellers Holi can be quite overwhelming. He allowed us to sit with him and created a safe space outside his shop where we could still play holi but also observe from a small distance. This was a huge blessing for us and shows the character of this man. From this time shared we befriended both Depak and his brother in law Rahul.
Depak and his wife own Bellisima. They have 2 shops in the fort both selling traditional textiles and handicrafts. The best thing about their stores is that the money from the product is given directly to the women who create them. Real and authentic conscious consumerism. This is really important for us whilst shopping.
Above depaks shop is a beautiful wee rooftop cafe, run by Rahul. The atmosphere is great, and I think it boasts the best view inside the fort overlooking the King, Queen and Prince palaces. Rahul allowed us to choose our own music which was awesome, and the rajasthani thali was the best we've had! We loved it so much we went back the next day for lassi. We connected with 'Cool Rahul' beyond the exchange of commerce and we now consider him a friend.

We met the owner of Bellissima while strolling through the lanes of Jaisalmer fort. She is a young, sweet and chatty lady from whom you can learn all about the local culture. The shop has a good collection of items.
