Whilst we enjoyed seeing how tea gets from the plant to your cup, we felt that this was not a truly functional factory as nothing was actually working and it looked rusty and dirty. We tasted tea in the shop but it was clearly all about the sales. It was interesting to see the eucalyptus oil being made, but in such small quantities that it truly felt like a joke. There was one worker hand sorting tea in the factory and the guide; one worker stirring burning eucalyptus leaves! The chocolate making was also purely for tourists as they import the chocolate and simply make it into sales items.
Worth a visit to get the gist of tea making but I suspect there are more bona fide places.

We had visited the Brookland Tea garden during our sightseeing in Coonoor. We had gone on a Sunday afternoon and found that the entrance gate to the tea estate was closed. We were disappointed but we clicked pictures of the lush green sprawling tea garden filled with beautiful silver oak trees from the outside.

When I visited I tasted many types of teas like Green tea, Masala tea and Choclate tea is my favourite. They offer large range of biscuits, choclates etc. Here I see the process of making choclates, teas, eclaptus oil which is quite nice.But the prices over there are too much, similar to open market.

We have been to many places around the world, we cannot forget our 4 dy stay at Vinayaga Inn Ooty. What a service irrespective of rude customer or just walk in customer. As soon as you enter, we see as if we are entering our HOME. We recommend 1000 times to Ooty visitors, to try Vinayaga Inn and try other places. We are planing once again to stay there.

We went to this Tea factory on 17th May 2016 and learnt a lot about Tea, it's one of the best way to know the complete process and workflow along with live machinaries on the run producing tea.
Every visitor to Nilgiris should visit this wonderful place and know about tea production, school going children should definitely visit this factory, on the vacation we can learn something about what we drink daily in our homes.
Must visit for all age groups when we are in Coonoor, it's located on the way to Dolphin`s nose view point, and we have seen Lady canning seat also on the return, please take your best camera to catch the action live, I took some fabulous photos and videos to cherish.

Both Factories are nice. They show you the whole process of making Eculptus oil, choclates, tea. Brooklands tea factory is my choice. But there are too many stairs to step in Brooklands tea factory.
