This 10th century temple is famous for its two sets of seven tired "Gopurams" or towers.
It has several ponds associated with it including a large one near it.
Another specialty of this temple is the big tall outer wall enclosing the temple. This is yet another great example of Chola period architecture.

Good Shiva temple with no visitors on a Saturday morning. Very poorly maintained. Temple is very big with big outer praharam and pond. Has another 2 level where God is found and it is equivalent to kailasa Malai as per the person present there. Need to get a ticket to go to the top. We did not visit. Good calm Shiva temple

Another famous temple between chidambaram and Vaitheeswaran koil .
40 mins max from Chidambaram . Roads are not broaf and there is continous flow of vehicles . Some.road repairs and small accident could have caused additional delay for us.
Famous for Vishnu and Siva in together form . Mahalakshmi pleadee for Vishnus life to Siva.
Such a big temple needa lot of attention. Kept in a very bad state .
Temple isnopen till 1 pm sonwe were able to cover chidambaram temples and peacefully reach here .
There are couple of lodging available near by .

Temple Name : Sri Brahmapureesar Temple / Shri Sattainathar Temple
Deity : Sri Brahmapureesar / Shri Sattainathar, Tirunilai Nayaki
About : This is one of the 276 Paadal Petra Stalams. The temple has three different Shiva shrines in three stories. The three shrines are - Shivalingam (Brahmapureesar), a colossal image of Uma Maheswarar (Toniappar) at the medium level, and Bhairavar (Sattanathar) at the upper level. The temple is also known for the the legend of Sambandar. Sambandar as an infant was blessed with poetic abilities by Goddess Parvathi.
Timing : 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 4 PM to 9 PM.
Parking : Parking space available outside the temple.
Additional Info: The temple is located on the main area in Sirkazhi and easy to locate.

Stayed in chola in from which the temple is located walkable distance. The temple is dedicated for Lord Shiva. It is swayambu lingam. It has rich history. By paying 5/- one can go up to see huge idol of Siva and Parvati in first floor. One can have darshan of Lord sattainathar from window in second floor. Only on Friday Lord sattainathar is worshipped

This temple is around 25 kms from Chidambaram and there are lot of buses ply between Sirkazhi and chidambaram.Brahmapureewarar temple is three stored temple.In the first floor Lord Shiva is in the form of sacred linga and in second floor we can see big idols of Lord Shiva and Parvathi.In the third floor we can the idol of shiva.This temple had a big premises with Large Gopurams.

Nice Big Temple in Sirkazhi, though i feel it lags maintenance. 5 Rs entrance ticket for sattainathar sannathi. Heard Special Poojas done on Fridays and one must be in Dhothi to visit the Main Inner praharam. Not much crowd during my visit. Recommended to visit during evenings to avoid scorching heat. Not much shops in and around the temple. You can plan for a Halt and Go visit as there are not good hotels to have food or stay. Near to Old Sirkazhi Bus Stand.

Very old and historically important temple. It is the birth place of Thirugnana sammanthar. Annual festival held every year in the month of April to commemorate Parvathy devi who fed milk to infant sammanthar. It is located in center of the town. The temple complex is huge like any other chola temples. one can definitely guaranteed for calm and serene atmosphere. There is a temple dedicated to lord vishnu which is also one of 108 divadesam called as Thirivikrama Narayana Perumal Temple is in sirkazhi. Locally known as thadalan koil.

this is a great old temple. They are trying to maintain this temple but require funds. Excellent and different type of architecture of the main temple. This is a tiered temple with the main diety at the top

Hi, would like to know on what day we are able to see the feet of the Uma Maheswarar ? I heard it only can been seen during chitirai pournami from 12.00 noon to 1pm.
