It is about different plants and flowers created using threads. Place claims it took many years to build it. Place can be covered in maximum 30 minutes. They charge for mobile also which is strange. At the end of the display gallery which is like 50-100 meters long, there is a sales counter where they sell their products.

It was not in our itinerary. But it was enjoyable. Just opposite the lake. Few steps to go up and a nominal entry fee. A girl at the entrance itself introduces us to this garden. The charts at the back tells in detail the story of this unique garden. It was amazing art work.

Must visit. The place is just opposite to Ooty lake and boathouse. The garden exhibits a collection of artificial flowers and plants. All of them made by the expert hands of the artists by using various kinds of thread, with the help of canvas, metal wire and glue. Here you can find more than 150 varieties of flowers made of thread. 400 different shades of colors were put together to obtain the desired natural color flowers. All flowers, plants, leaves are made by sewing the threads so perfectly.
The mastermind behind this garden is Anthony Joseph. In 1988, he started a research and work center with only nine ladies, making plants and flowers using thread. Antony Joseph formed this self-invented technique called 'Four Dimensional Hand-Wound Embroidery' following several experiments when he joined his family business of textile brushes and related accessories. Anthony has worked nonstop for 12 years to create the marvels of thread which we see today in this garden. Approximately 6 crore meters of embroidery thread has been used in the creation of this one-of-a-kind attraction in the world.

We wasted 20 bucks per person and half an hour at this dump. It's located right opposite the Ooty lake, so is like a tourist trap. Even before you enter, you are greeted by large posters and backdrops singing praises and creating hype for what you are going to see inside. Once in there, you will see that there is no real flooring, just a rocky surface covered with carpets to walk on. The person who ushers you in will ask your preferred language and will rattle off a robotic-sounding speech about this thread garden. Don't worry if you miss parts of his monologue, whatever he says is repeated over and over in huge banners as you walk down the passage.
The place itself is very poorly lit for visitors to appreciate the intricate handiwork. All the exhibits are behind a barricade, the ones at the back are simply not accessible. A lot of stuff on display is props, along with the actual thread work. What must have been impressive decades ago, is now just like some local school's annual art and craft show. In 2021, we have seen much more marvelous and well-presented handiwork to appreciate this less than mediocre display.
The worst bit was the banners by the creator that used all possible superlatives to praise their own works to the highest possible glory. We were underwhelmed by the experience and felt that we had been scammed.

The garden is based on innovative concept and is ok for a quick visit.The process is not explained in detail.Only multiple flowers made of threads are kept inside.Boards for display do have some info.Can be clubbed with ooty lake visit hence does not take much time and is affordable to visit.

It was closed.. still we could see some part of this garden... Minimal entrance fees.. opposite to Ooty lake .. you can see whole Ooty lake from the garden which enhance the beauty of your trip..

Visited with family through ooty/coonoor package trip. Here all flowers made with thread, due to this it is called thread garden. We can purchase the flowers from this garden.
