The stay was very comfortable. They have arrangements for hot water boilers and room heaters which is a must in the cold, freezing temperatures.The golf greens are breath taking. The chicken 65 and masala chicken curry is great.

Quite a pathetic customer service experience. I had booked a room as a member of the Cosmos club which has a tie up with the gymkhana. We paid for 4 people for a booking in Dec 2020. But unfortunately due to Covid guidelines, I had to cancel the booking. I was supposed to be getting a 50% refund on cancellation. However its beginning Aril and still haven't heard back from them. All emails are unanswered and the number on their website is incorrect.
Property may be good, but if you are being taken for granted, then I would rather never visit. Absolutely pathetic.

During our holiday in Ooty we had visited Pykara for sightseeing and this beautiful lush green sprawling golf course is located on the road from Ooty to Kamaraj Sagar Dam and Pine Forest. Only members are allowed inside. We were allowed to click pictures only from outside. The golf course is very beautiful with lush green grass, trees and hilly terrain.

The general feel is colonial but the colonial itch is absent. That makes it a great place to be in. The lawns and buildings convey the message of space, space and space. The Golf Course looks lovely.

Our extended family with 13 members visited the famous Gymkhana Club Wellington for a 3 nights and 4 days stay after prior booking well in advance. This facility is open for booking only for members or their guests .
More than 100 years old , this great retreat has an old world charm and also is refurbished with most modern facilities including a world class golf course ,premium bar , excellent cottages for a comfortable stay . The service is very good and the ambiance is great . The scheduled menu lacks variety and so ,we ordered special food at more than one occasion and attanged a Bonfire evening to wind up our tour .
The galleries facing the golf course is a good place to unwind .
The location is very convenient to visit places of interest nearby .Overall , a memorable visit for all of us.

It's an old world charm once you have stepped and come inside this Golf course and club. This club is old and very prestigious.

We planned our Ooty trip at the last moment.all the good hotels were booked or high price.so though one of our family member who is in army,we came to know about the place and got a chance to live here during our Ooty trip.Very beautiful garden,golf club and cottages.Room are big and clean.Hairdryer,slipper,tea maker,towel, bathroom kit all were available.Dinner was Continental.I enjoyed evening and morning walk in the golf ground.Really worth visiting once.

Ooty club is another historical wonder. All the wood and glass eyeballs one could ever need. A gripping atmosphere after dark.

Located just outside the bustle of Ooty town. Not a very imposing exterior, but the interior oozes old world. Trophies and such knickknacks in the entry hall. Large dining space and a beautiful patio with seating. They have strict dress codes. Men have to wear shirts with collars. Trousers after 7pm etc..
They also have a few cottages behind. These seem to be newer additions, though I'm not sure. A good living area and a decent sized bedroom and bathroom. Heaters in the rooms.
The restaurant had pretty good food.
Good views to the surrounding areas. Their golf course is just across the road.

We visited for pre-dinner drinks and dinner as guests of a member. The club is very pukka and maintains a strict dress code, it could have been 1930. The building is fascinating and not a little militaristic, well worth a visit if you can wangle an invitation but remember that some areas remain out of bounds to women/visitors. Sunday night was busy so may account for the slow service and muddled orders but the dining was good with variety and generous portions. Remember to wrap up warm as Ooty is high and the nights can be cold - fires were not laid in the many fireplaces.
