We went to this place as it one of the oldest and famous bakery in Ooty. While it can get crowded during the evening time as most people come here for tea/coffee.
We tried different pastry, Cakes, Varkey etc. which was amazing and this place is famous for hot chocolate which is also worth trying but please avoid coffee as we thought this is not the place to have a cup of coffee.

A one stop Shop for everything that you might want when in ooty. This trip of ours was long pending after hearing rave views and Moddys.
Let me start with moddy chocolate, I am not a big chocolate fan, but I must admit I was almost converted to be one after I had the chocolates and the hot chocolate at Moddys. When I spoke to Murali I understood that their chocolates are sourced from farms in Mangalore and I being a Mangalorean this was even more exciting for me, since the quality of cocoa is mind-blowingly amazing. They also change the flavours of their hot chocolate every once in awhile. When we went there it was hazelnut, mocha and classic. They also have 10+ varities of hot chocolate during December and I was told not to miss that time of the year.
The icecreams that are offered at Moddys have some very pleasant flavours and I personally loved the lemon ginger.
On the first floor is the cafe and one can enjoy a good lunch or dinner at the cafe, we decided to have an early dinner with veg burger, garlic, chilli cheese bread toast, spinach and sweetcorn grilled sandwich and churros with hot chocolate. The food ofcourse was very good and light on the tummy and pocket. Churros was crispy and mild on sugar with an addictive cinnamon fragrance.
The store next door modern store that belongs to the same group is insanely filled with products that are not even available in a City like Chennai, I mean really!!!
So if you are in Ooty, this one is a never miss!

It is really nice place to have quick snacks. The hot chocolate is yum and must try.
We also liked the Japanese cake and pastries, it was really nice.
While leaving from ooty we ordered the hot chocolate at ooty bus stand and they delivered it.

A local friend suggested we go here. We were not disappointed. It's certainly ticking the boxes for a UK visitor. Quality chocolates, quality cakes (my wife loved the apple and cinnamon), really good coffee and hot chocolate like in Italy. Helpful staff. Good freshly made toasted sandwiches (my wife loved the tomato and cucumber). We stayed longer than we thought. Clean and secure toilet at rear of premises. We will probably call back later today and later this week. Certainly value for money. Spotlessly clean.

Chocolates are good. But for a place that offers seating in a cafe and has a lot of space, they do not even have an attached washroom. They make you ask for a key and you have to walk to the back of a parking lot and there is not even a separate washroom for ladies. Awful!

Excellent Coffee, Pasteies, and Delicious Chocolates! Amazing Location! It is just stepping away from Charing Cross Hotel and right at the heart of Ooty!
Beautiful ambience, great people at reception.
I spent hours there reading a Hemingway book with cups of hot steaming cappuccino!

You cannot leave Ooty without a visit to Moddys. Constantly crowded they attend to you very fast. You dream it and they will have it. Chocolates of all types. Few savuories also. Priced right, they are delicious.

Waste of time nothing to see and
Chocolates are very expensive comparing to other chocolate factory
Besides this there is entry fees as well if Rs 50 which is not worth

Refer my review dt. 22.05.2022, where in , I reacted due to inefficiency of counter person, and hence reviewed, naturally feeling cheated. However, on informing the matter to Mr. Ashoke of the establishment, the gentleman took note of the facts and sent the missing items to Bangalore through courier free of cost. Compelling me to revise my review due to conduct.
