We reached theTemple at 8:00 in the morning Elk Hill Murugan Temple. As the name reads, the temple was on top of the hill (Elk Hill).The temple is situated 1 km from the Rose Garden and about 4 km from Ooty Railway Station. It is one of the respected temples in Ooty and one of the best places to visit in Ooty.
Temple is dedicated to Lord Muruga. The highlight of the place is a 40 feet tall statue of Lord Murugan that stands tall outside the enclosures of the temple and attracts pilgrims and devotees from everywhere .The statue is a replica of the Murugan Statue in Batu caves, Kaulalampur Malaysia. In addition to that, the temple premises also have idols of Lord Ganesh, Lord Shiva, Goddess Shakthi, Nava Kanika, Navagrahas, etc.
There are two modes of entry to the temple, one to climb about 400 steps or further drive the vehicle up to the top and then can walk across to the temple (best suitable for older people or those who not able climb steps).
When we were there, hardly any people around hence we could see the darshan conveniently. May be they will get more crowd in the evenings, not sure.

It’s good tracking experience if you choose to walk or you can opt out car option too. Our hotel was nearby so we go by walking. When we reached Aarti was going on. Very nice place.

We visited this temple in evening, but temple was closed. This is located very near to city in calm and serene location. It is a must visit place if one wants the holy feel and peace of mind.

We were blessed by murugan, we were late in evening main temple was closed but still took pictures and blessing of murugan

Very calm serene and divine ambience. Temple is in good height of the Elk Hill. Big vehicles cannot reach this place. Must visit in early morning to experience the holiness along with the cool misty clouds

Murugan temple is located atop the Elk hill in Ooty. There is a very huge idol of Lord Murugan as the main deity. A very serene and peaceful location where we had good darshan.
