Been there for Gede Pangrango Ultra Marathon. At first I was sceptical whether Im gonna enjoy the mountain but once I reach both summit, the feeling was amazinggggg.. but i dont have much time since I was in a race. Both summit can be conquered in a day if you dont plan to camp there. As long as you train and prepare, you manage to cut down days of your visit there.

This mountain national park is really huge place and really nice place. The stage for the mountain climber is not that hard. This place very easy to reach.
Starting from Jakarta, going there by car is only take 2 hours by the highway of Jagorawi Toll Section, then going through Puncak Pass until Cibodas, then everything started there. Theres some part that gives you a stairs to be there so it is very easy to reach the top.

really want to explore this mountain, camping and trekking, but I got information that this mountain is closed for the next few months due to a routine agenda, is it true? Is there a local tour guide who is professional, of international standard, able to provide transportation, logistics and various climbing equipment services. My plan is to depart from Jakarta with a group.

Yes, that's right, Mount Gede Pangrango is currently closed due to a routine agenda every year, but will reopen on February 1, 2022, but if you only do trekking to the Cibereum Waterfall area it can still be opened to the public, only for camping and climbing until to the top which is closed to the public. This is the information I got from a tour operator who has an official connection to a national park called the Java Private Tour. Based on my previous experience, my advice is if you have plans for an adventure to this mountain you can use the services of a Java Private Tour, they are highly recommended by several embassies, and their services include providing transportation, logistics supplies and also providing climbing equipment. You can find out about Java Private Tour on google or this tripadvisor.
