This tomb also called the tomb of the heavenly horse is the first one you come across when entering the mound park, and is the only one that you can visit internally for a ticket of about €2.50. The mound contains various found furnishings.

the tomb of the heavenly horse - Cheonmachong - was built between the sixth and fifth centuries
and was the last home of an unknown ruler of the Silla dynasty.
was unearthed in 1973.
the style of the tomb follows the typical canons observed during the Silla era,
consisting of a wood-panelled chamber following the East-West directive and covered with a mound of stone and earth the tomb measures 47 meters in diameter, 157 in circumference and 12.7 in height.
the grave chamber contained a lacquered wooden coffin containing burial objects (11,526).
the name of the mound comes from a painting found on a flap of a saddle in birch bark.
the horse - known in Korean mythology as Cheonma - has eight legs and is painted with wings at its feet.
on the other edge of the saddle are painted a knight and the phoenix.
The tomb contained numerous other treasures such as a golden crown and a gold belt.
in the tomb there were also bracelets, gold rings, iron kettles, ceramics, bronze vases, objects decorated with lacquers and a sword.

This is an interesting little museum built into a tomb in central Gyeong-Ju. It's a bit prciey compared to other, larger meusuems and sites, but it was worth it to see the burial goods of an ancient king in context. It's also a nice respite from the heat on a hot day of wlking around the tumuli park.

This tumulus tomb is thought to have been the burial place of an unknown Silla king or a very high ranking noble. This is I think the only tumulus in the burial complex that is open for visitations. Inside there’s an exhibit of the funerary goods. Mostly stunning is the gold crown, decorated with jade and spangles, and clearly been made by the hands of a master craftsman. Other funerary includes cavalry ornamentation. There are even videos to demonstrate the Silla cavalry alongside the horse equipment.

The Cheonmachong Tomb is the tomb no. 155, one of a complex of tombs in the Daereung complex. There is an entry fee of 3.00 won. Inside you can see the excavated grave with the artifacts and there are some displays on the walls. There are TV screens that tell the story of construction and excavation is different languages, including English.

Truly amazing, well set up, evocative site, with videos that are understandable even to Westerners. The memorabilia on display are copies of the originals displayed in the museum, very well made and retaining the magic. You pay a negligible ticket but the entrance is not on the main road. Look for it because you shouldn't miss it. There are maps of the city with details on the site of the very well made tombs, you will easily find them at the information. The situation is complex and there is no way to solve it with a cell phone.

Un lieu émouvant et magnifique. Je conseille avant la visite de cette tombe d'aller au Musée National de Gyeongju où l'on peut s'approcher des objets somptueux qui ont été reproduits à l'identique.

It's very interesting to see inside a tomb, unfortunately what you see are just the replica which is a shame.
