The theater in Palmyra was built during the Roman era in the 2nd century AD. At that time, performances so beloved by the Romans were held here. In 2015, Palmyra was captured by militants of the Islamic State, who decided in July of the same year to also give a performance on the stage of this theater... a very bloody performance: 25 prisoners were executed with shots to the back of the head to the applause of members of this terrorist organization...

Не смотря на причинённые разрушения, театр в Пальмире до сих пор оставляет самое сильное впечатление. Он очень хорошо сохранился и скорее всего часть сцены, которую отрешили в 2017 году, будет на очень сложно восстановить

Palmyra is breathtaking in magnitude despite destruction from the war. You feel so small walking through the various procession streets, taking in all the columns and the ancient structures. There is so much history here. The neighbouring museum and the old booming tourist town is completely destructed, but is undergoing restoration. As it is still a military zone, guards will escort you through the site. There is very little shade so bring water, sunscreen and maybe a hat.

It is located on the side of the main street. It is made of light, yellowish, stone.
It is closed, you enter by gate on one side and exit on another. There are some collumns behind the scene.
It is not big, but it's very, very nice. The nicest ancient theatre I've seen, and I've seen a few. Allegedly it was damaged during the war, I hope not much.

Suriye'nin Palmira bölgesindeki bu çok önemli tarihi eser bütünün bir parçası. Bu bölgede Romalı'lardan kalma pek çok tarihi eser var.Bu eser bir açık hava tiyatro ve gösteri alanı.Çöl bölgesinde büyük bir yerleşim alanının bir bölümü. Fakat ne yazık ki günümüzde iç savaş nedeni ile eserlerin pek çoğunun tahrip edildiğini ve hatta yağmalandığı haberlerini aldık. Umarız tekrar restore edilip eski haline dönerler. 2011 yılında yapılan bu ziyaretle ilgili anılarımız hala canlı. 2018 deki görüntüler ise içimizi burktu.

An essential part of any visit to Palmyra, this theatre was restored before the current conflict and was actually host to some festivals to attract tourists. It is a great place to sit, relax and imagine what kind of events were shown two thousand years ago. We visited in 2002 and we are not sure if it survived the current conflict or not, but hopefully there will be a time to return and tell.

이탈리아 로마의 콜로세움 보다는 약간 작음 규모의 극장이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 콜로세움과 달리 직접 걸어보고 심지어 무대에 서서 노래를 부르거나 소리를 질러 볼수도 있다. 무대 아래의 비어 있는 공간으로 인한 공명현상을 직접 체험해 보거나 무대 안쪽의 준비실을 구경해 보는 것도 또하나의 재미이다.

Πριν το καταστρέψουν ήταν ένα από τα ποιο όμορφα αρχαία θέατρα δείγμα της πολιτιστικής κατάκτησης που είχε φέρει ο Μέγα Αλέξανδρος στον τότε κόσμο.

Besökte platsen 1992 och känner sorg i hjärtat hur denna historiska plats förstörs. Över 2000 åt gammal teater förstörs.

من أروع المسارح التي عرفتها المعمورة والتي تشهد على مقدرة عمرانية هائلة ودقة وروعة وسعة وبساطة بالتصميم، في قلب الصحراء في مدينة تدمر عاصمة زنوبيا، زرتها في طفولتي وشباب وكهولتي.
