Good place for bargaining on souvenirs. Has everything. Many stalls but they all share similar stuff. Cheaper than what you get elsewhere.

Very nice local handicrafts made by Maasai women, at reasonable prices. It is also a way to support the local community.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
So many Aggressive salesmen who try to sell you for ten times the regular price. I ran away as fast aS I could.

Maasai Market is very definitely a tourist trap, with all the typical souvenirs (beaded jewelry, clothing, giraffe sculptures, etc). It's as good a place as any to pick up souvenirs if you want that kind of thing but be prepared for nonstop politely aggressive selling tactics.

Don’t waste your time. It’s 250 stalls with the exact same mass produced products that you can buy in all of the country. It lacks authenticity and people scream at you trying to guide you into their store. Rather unpleasant to be honest.
If you don’t believe this then just look at the motives on the painting. It’s incredible how many painters can paint the exact same motive of Masai people in Arusha, Zanzibar and everywhere else for that matter.

Certainly, the choice and number of objects offered is impressive. On the other hand, the omnipresence and pressure of the sellers was such that I only wanted to “ESCAPE”! I found the same items in other stores (on the road near the parks) where I was able to choose peacefully and negotiate very attractive prices.

This Market is very large with lots of aisles and tons of little vendor shops. Be sure to browse around before buying anything as a lot of vendors offer similar items. Bargaining is a given! If you find something you like, make sure to note what shop it was and where that shop is located, as it is easy to get confused with so many aisles. And you actually may find a similar item for less after bargaining.

Marchés où en fouillant un peu, on peut trouver des objets artisanaux et en négociant (aussi un peu) à des pris très compétitifs, par rapport aux autres boutiques que nous avons viités en Tanzanie, à proximité des parcs

This is where you can buy your souvenirs. Its directly benefiting the craftsman. Definitely bargain! We loved the paintings, masks, jewelry, calabash is what the masai use to store drinks. We saw some really cool tshirts as well. Take your time walk around and then bargain your way through.
